Guess I shouldn't be surprised.  I saw Oneechanbara at a Fukui-ken theater.  LOOK AT THIS OPENING DAY PACKED CROWD:

WooT..! I'll try to find a place showing it on the big screen. I rented Ichi the Killer here, and wished I'd seen it in a theater.
