Nah, my Moms bought me one for Christmas. I had an old ass 2nd gen ipod for like 5 years and it finally DIED and WOE WAS ME and my Moms is good with teh gifts.

You can still use the app store without any problems AFAIK.  I recently removed the jailbroken features from my iPhone and returned it back to normal before the 3.0 update came out.  Found myself not using anything except custom icons/wallpaper, but that wasn't enough of a reason to keep it, especially since it slows down the OS.
