If it wasn't coming from a shitty developer I'd be excited

Wow, haven't heard from the Mechwarrior name in a while... Mechwarrior 2 was the shit, one of the first PC games I've ever bought, I loved the music.

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

My mech itch is in full force now. Going to go get Chromehounds on my lunch break for $10.

Mech warrior 2 and 3 was awesome.

That doesn't stop people from being excited for Borderlands, so hey.
Also, I'm not sure how much they could shit up the format here. I really don't think the lack of MW has been a matter of not finding a capable developer, but more a matter of actually being in the position to get the ball rolling. I think even a traditionally so-so developer could mine gold here, considering how strong but basic the foundation is.

It's annoying when a CGI trailer is that much more impressive than the final game, especially when it comes to the environmental destruction.
-
Sounds like a good case of made for PC, paid for by 360. Or at least I certainly hope so.
Been playing Battletech games on the PC since effin' Crescent Hawk's Inception. Glad they are going to give the franchise another crack.

Going to go get Chromehounds on my lunch break for $10.
Well it's only 10 bucks but I don't know how much you're going to get out of it. I think much of the community has moved on, unfortunately. While imo Chromehounds is the best mech game since MechWarrior 2, and one of my favorite games of this generation, it's completely dependent upon having a group of people to play it with. Back in '06 when the Chromehounds community was in full swing and the GAF clans were going, the game was a total blast.
The single player "campaign" can hardly even be condsidered a campaign. It's just a series of hum drum missions to get you used to the various hound classes that you'll use in the online war.

A friend of mine bought it too and we played a bit last night. I think it holds up pretty good for a 3 year old game. The ground and trees look shitty but everything else is pretty great. The mech controls exactly like I thought it should so it was a natural fit.
Do you still have it? Dig it out and let's blow some shit up.

I wonder if we'll see a new shadowrun game if this does well.
I for one, would welcome a new Shadowrun RPG.
On a semi-related note: A just-published novel co-authored by Jordan Weisman is copyrighted by Smith & Tinker:

I would but I got rid of it awhile back. Still got the urge to play it though. Maybe I'll try to pick up a used copy somewhere.

You should. I got mine for $10 at GS.
