So if I want to disarm the bomb I'm screwed and I can't patch the water with the little repair I have?
It really is absurdly easy to repair that particular bomb as opposed to repairing other things or simply maintaining a rifle.
It's a gamist conceit based solely on the fact that you encounter Megaton early.
I just did the Super Duper Mart quest - I never did that in my first playthrough (I sped through and beat it in 16 hours). I totally forgot how awesome this game is.

Beat Riley's Rangers and started The Replicated Man (never played either of these quests my first playthrough). I'm going to start Operation: Anchorage right now and see if that's any good. It appears to me that I didn't do much of anything my first run through the game.
Someone told me there was a gun in the Lincoln Memorial, but all I found were slavers and I smited them all like the Right Hand of God that I am. Is it anywhere to be found?
Also, I started the Reilly's Rangers quest and am trying to travel to the compound, but getting raped by Super Mutants. Is there an easier way to get there?
I invested in repair and it's paid off. I am spending far less caps in this playthrough than when I initially played.
... How do you get to Republic of Dave?
It's funner to rig the election.I invested in repair and it's paid off. I am spending far less caps in this playthrough than when I initially played.

As Bloodwake said, its as North East you can go on the map. Its in a safe so you'll either have to pick the lock or steal the key from Dave himself.

1. Convince Rosie or Bob to run for president. They'll cast the only vote for themselves while everybody else will vote for Dave.
2. Once the votes are in, activate a stealthboy and wait next to the ballot box and SAVE.
3. Once Dave unlocks the ballot box, steal all the votes except for the one for Rosie or Bob.
4. Dave will count that one vote and tell Rosie or Bob that they won. Then he'll pout and storm off into the wasteland.
After you rig the election, the new president will give you the key to the safe.
I'm wearing that hockey mask! But I can't remember why and I didn't bother to check when I started playing again - I figured there'd be a good reason.
Don't have Ranger Armour though, have to check that out. I just use Leather Armour because it doesn't weigh much.
I'm finding all kinds of stuff I never saw in my 20 hours with the PC version. For one thing, I had no idea you could blow up vehicles so easily (and that the explosions are fucking awesome.)
Can't stay mad at you Fallout 3 :-*
Ever since Peter flew into town;Am I the last person to know that that was a real song? I must be.
He's been havin' a ball;
Just cuttin' and choppin' for miles around;
Single women, married women, old maids and all.
I'm using the Tesla Armor and LeDoux Hockey Mask. Using A3-21's Plasma Rifle with 100 points into energy weapons and the perk that if I kill someone in VATS, my AP replenishes, as WELL as the perk where it regenerates faster. I'm a killing machine.
The best part was finding a long stretch of highway somewhere in the middle of the map that had a line of cars on it. The first one blew up and took the raider that I was trying to hit out with it, and then the rest of the vehicles detonated one after the other, in succession, like explosive dominoes. Mini-mushroom clouds to the horizon. 8)
(GLITCH) If you take a perk increases skills, e.g. Daddy's Boy/Girl, return to the skills page, then go forward to the Perks page again and select a different perk, returning to the Skills page will still show the improved skill rating. Upon selecting Accept, the true values are restored. (tested on xbox 360)I keep on going back and forth between the skills and perks pages and I'm getting more and more points. Sucks if you're already at level 30 I guess...
You have to cheat in this game? :lol Get real scrubs... you can also get the speech achievement by doing the little loophole at Big Town or whatever.
I just realised that presumably when you take raise SPECIALS to 9 perk, it also increases the corresponding skills.
Oh gee, I'm sorry, maybe this isn't the right game for you then?
I probably will skip Operation Anchorage as I don't really care to play a mostly combat focused expansion. The other two will get bought though
I've been playing through it again quickly. I'm at level 17 and I'm on the last two main line quests.Yes, you can max out your skills if you're a stat-whore. Otherwise it's kind of useless actually. The new perks mostly are crappy, I only used two of them (puppies and nuclear anomaly).
Should I just go ahead and buy Broken Steel now? How are the new side quests displayed? Are they just hidden around the waste?

Is The Pitt similar? main quest but a new area to explore?
how big is the new area compared to PO
