THE BORE

this game has the worst cover system of any game i have ever played, the shooting is awful, and within the first fifteen minutes i had to go through a bunch of corridors (trenches) as well as two (TWO!) of those fuckawful fps scenarios where you're stuck behind a mounted weapon mowing down enemies in a conga line
the enemies also spam dynamite at you like enemies in a COD game throw grenades
the graphics are nice, and the bullet time quick draw thing is okay, but the rest of it has a poo-like consistency
bad game, about on par with that history channel civil war game from a couple of years ago
don't believe the reviews, save your dollars or your rental slot
going to bed early would have been a more productive use of my time

Did you play the first and if so how did it compare?
I was hoping this would be OK as I liked the first aside from some glaring flaws (like frustrating platforming).

I liked the first too. From what I've played of Bound in Blood (up to the third mission) I find it a lot more enjoyable. The only disappointment is that I haven't run into any of the larger areas. Everything is confined and when on horseback you're on a strict path. It's still really good. Thankfully there's been no platforming parts. God I hated those. They actually made me quit the game and never finish it.

Do what I do whenever I want an fun singleplayer FPS fix and just replay call of duty 2 again, Eel. Cheaper too!

i didn't buy it, it was a gamefly rental
i can see where some folks might dig it, but it just did not click for me at all
but you are right, COD2 is always a fun replay
bildi, i honestly can't remember whether i played the first COJ or not :lol
if i did, i guess i didn't get very far

The first part of the game DOES suck as it's basically CoD-lite (and I hate CoD).
I thought it picked up a whole lot after that, however.
I didn't pay for it, however, so it makes it easier to handle. ;)

I ground through a few of those platforming parts where I would die again and again. They're the reason I put it down as well. I might pick this up cheap sometime.

:lol Clearly made a great impression if you did.

Played the demo of the first one, have rarely been that bored or disappointed in a game.
I like GUN, loved Red Dead Revolver. I'll buy RDR2 (not R2D2) when it comes out. Not this.

The first game was great, outside of the platforming. The best aspect of it was really the story though. The shooting gets a little repetitive and the sneaking was pretty much trial and error.

There's a word for a kind of media which is like a game but the gameplay could be dropped, and the piece can just get along on story alone: movie.

The parts where you're just roaming around the countryside are where all the bad gameplay sort of aggregated. Linear tunnels/trails with occasional pockets of enemies that you come up on every now and then.
The game comes together when you're going on a shooting spree through the cities. Spreading some gospel and stealing from hookers while unloading your revolvers. Awesome.
