Title: Internet Explorer 8 64 >>>>>> Firefox 3.5
Post by: Olivia Wilde Homo on July 31, 2009, 01:45:48 AM
It's amazing how much faster IE8 is now.  Well, the problem is more like each new iteration of Firefox since 3.0 has found a way to get slower and slower everytime.  Not to mention that the menu bar kind of sucks; IE8 annihilates it.

Only downside is that IE8 lacks an Adblock equivalent.  The ability to keep ads away along with the ability to block certain images like anime avatars, those gigantic asses that lack any kind of shape, and certain 4chan memes.

Microsoft needs to get on that.  Also Bing is pretty good.  MSN Live Search was such a joke.  I haven't done any deep Binging to compare to deep googling results.  So far so good.

Is it possible to copy images or urls in IE8 without having to go to the properties, and copy the url. I like how FF has "copy image/link location".

I've been testing Bing for a month, Google still shows better results right on the 1st page.

sent feedback every time it failed me hoping its will get better.

also, you might wanna try Firefox 3.5.1, it is faster and the interface will get better with 3.7 or 4.0, all aero glassy like IE8.

The problem with Bing is that there isn't really any reason to switch.  At best it's as good as Google, but ehhhh, I don't really feel like adding another search engine to the browser toolbar.

Nope.  Without the add-ons and stuff like that, I don't really care to use IE.

IE may be FASTER but the functionality is still stuck in the 90's, which is why I don't use it. Allow me to copy urls/images without going to the fucking properties and maybe I'll use it. And that's just one example.

I can't imagine browsing without Gmail Notifier.

Or Download Helper.  IE would be like returning to the Dark Ages, back when if there was some embedded flash video you wanted to download you'd have to plow through a bunch of HTML source code and pray you can find the URL of the FLV video file.

Chrome kills them all them, though.  Couldn't care less about add-ons to be honest.  Give blazing speed over add-ons any day of the week.

Once Chrome gets a more elegant adblock solution, I'm there.

Firefox runs like crap on my work computer for no discernible reason.

I've switched to Chrome as well.  Firefox is becoming bloatware.
