I haven't played PC games at any level of intensity since 2000. My favorite genres were FPS, Adventure, and strategy games, both RTS and turnbased. I have a crappy laptop with integrated graphics, so stuff like Crysis is out of the question.

I have a crappy laptop with integrated graphics, and about the only games that I play on it are Civ IV (base game, expansions, and colonization), Spore (lol), and Diablo 2.
I would use this to see if your comp and run games that you're interested in, and then try the demo or benchmark if available:

it's not always correct, which is why I recommend trying out demos. It told me that I could run Company of Heroes on my laptop and it runs at one frame every five seconds.

If you'e gonna get back in PC gaming, you have to be SERIOUS. 4GB, Crossfire, 1TB hard drive... dont bother otherwise. GET OUT
Get Scratches, btw

HINTERLAND.
I think. I wanted to play it so bad

First of all... :lol at that avatar of yours gillo..
I'm also getting back into pc gaming, and need some adventure recommendations. Nothing to hard or complicated and if possible with a mistery vibe to it. Kinda like a mixture of Resident Evil 1 (regarding the mood and the setting, not the gameplay) Silent Hill and these Agatha Christie games.
Something like a new Indiana Jones or a SciFi based adventure would also be interesting..Basically anything with laid back mechanics and a compelling story...maybe I should just read a book.
EDIT: Sorry about the thread jacking Rman!

SCRATCHES

PC gaming is garbage guys, but trust me on this one. Scratches is THE best PC game you will ever play.
-
Thanks I'll try that.
-
Get the "Director's Cut" since it has an extra chapter to play.

Thanks a lot, can't wait to try some of them out. What I like about PC gaming so far is that almost all of the games are dead cheap.
EDIT: Are there any patches so I can play the games in english? Thanks to our big brother germany nearly all of the games are localized (often with horrendous voice acting). I could buy them on amazon.co.uk, but amazon.de is just so much cheaper. Well come to think of it, how would anyone of you know that.. :lol
