something feels really strange about this game...it's like...immediately responsive to everything. I'm tired, so hopefully I'll get some hours into it tomorrow.
Yes
GOTY 2008
hmm..the collision detection is atrocious. I got stuck in the geometry of a car because the driver was pulling me out (even as I had a shotgun in hand) as soon as I was getting in. I had to jump through the car to get out, since the game hadn't registered me as driving yet, even though I was technically in the car :lol Takes about 2 shots to blow up a helicopter, vehicle, or anything...so I don't really feel like I'm doing anything. Also, the game stuttered and froze on the THQ intro screen, with a sound loop going for about 10 seconds. And this is just the first hour of playing :-\
This is like Dead to Rights or Stranglehold compared to Max Payne...but I'll play some more
:lol okay, so this game is some kind of EB inside joke.
and I'm on the 360 version.
I'm not joking. I played the game nonstop when I bought it (but stopped because I wanted to play it 100% co-op for dem cheevs) and experienced no glitch except in a mission (which EVERYONE experienced so it wasn't exactly an isolated case - patched now), plus the co-op checklist glitch (also patched). So I'm firmly in the belief that you are just spreading more FUD. I hope you are happy. Loser.
Crackdown and Saints are two different games... imo

Yeah, Crackdown's all about being really strong and jumping all over the place [which is cool] and Saints Row is all about fighting gangs, cruising around town, and gaining territory [which is also cool].
it's no joke. any game that lets me spray raw sewage on old people is the greatest thing ever.
someone post a link to arby's awesome awesome sr2 video.

You can make naked fat men [very cool].
Dont listen to these fools kanz, the game isnt that good. Missions run at sub 5 FPS, theres no structure and the game thinks anything involving weed is hysterical. Just a POS game.
You can't leper a leper
So what makes this worse than GTA4? You did like GTA4? I'm curious on what someone's wrong opinion is like please entertain me?
sour vaginas up in this thread
in over 50 hours of play the only "bug" i experienced was a couple game freezes
You didn't answer my question.

Same. I don't see how anyone can say that GTA4 plays better than SR2, either. The driving and combat mechanics are far, far better in Saint's Row 2.
GEE SWAGGAZ THAT SOUNDS LIKE SHIT. GTA4 HAS ALL THAT PLUS MORE.Different people look for different things in their open-world gaming. I liked GTA4's (comparatively) mature approach to open world gaming.

i never played saint's row 2, but if it is somehow worse than GTA4 i'll eat my fucking hat.

YOU WANNA TAKE THE PEPSI CHALLENGE BIATCH? I'll send ya my copy
gtaiv is slower, more boring, more frustrating controls, more minitasking, more micromanaging
i could go on
You know how you said you didn't bother with any of the friend stuff in GTA4, Kranz? You don't have to bother with all those side missions in SR2, either. In which case you're left with an ugly, badly animated GTA imitator, when you could be playing GTA.
Resident Evil 5 IS better than Dead Space. What is it with you distinguished mentally-challenged fellows and BORING GAMES. Do you LOVE being some schlub's go-to guy? Go do this, go do that, go do this.

Gaming in general is just doing a pre-ordained list of tasks in order to gain a sense of accomplishment. I thought you'd know that, Mr. Gamerscore. ::)
I was thinking about doing a contest. Maybe I'll put it up later today
I like GTA's attention to detail, better humor (although not by much), and more fully realized setting.

What's more "fully-realized" about it? That you can go and pick up hookers or something?

I assumed he means that the city in GTAIV more closely resembles a real city than Saint's Row 2. I agree with that somewhat, not that it makes any difference since you can't do anything with all those realistic buildings in GTAIV.
TWILIGHT NERD!!!!!!!!!!
SR2 co-op is the shit.
hello, right above you (and below you)
HELLO
Donate it to the borecast for a giveaway
in short, all the little annoying things in the first couple hours with this game made me not compelled to play it. I'm not gonna compare item-by-item, since I played all of GTAIV and LATD...it wouldn't be fair to compare them like that. It does look like there are a lot more options for free-form sandbox stuff in this game. I don't do anything like that in GTA...only missions.
But generally reverse anything negative I've said about this and turn it into a positive for GTA, aside from the framerate, which can get bad when enough cars are exploding around you.
Fuck, Saints Row 2 is in an ugly platinum box (yeah, I'm one of THOSE people). Damn me and my procrastinating.
Havent read a thread this bad in awhile... I thought all GTAIV apologists had either killed themselves or moved to Hollywood to try their hand at becoming a screenwriter
I don't apologize for anything in the game. The lack of checkpoints was annoying and there aren't enough role-playing type aspects to it. And they should give you cheats to allow you to become a crazy, skyscraper-jumping superman with flying cars and the ability to level buildings and shit. The rest of it I enjoyed. They made a fairly solid game with 4, then improved upon it with the Lost and Damned. Gay Tony should be even better.
Super Explosions #7Oh, wait. It's for the game you didn't like. :-*
Super Saints (almost invincibile Homies and Saints with better weapons) #8
Drunk Pedestrians #15
Evil Cars (drivers try to run you down) #16
Low Gravity (cannot be used with helicopters; use in Insurance Fraud mode to glide) #18
Pedestrian War (pedestrians and drivers fight each other) #19
Raining Pedestrians (people spawn and fall from sky but die on the ground) #20
Everybody Must Get Shrunk (everyone is very short) #202
Time Set Noon (hour set to 12 p.m. with minutes unchanged) #1200
Time Set Midnight (hour set to 12 a.m. with minutes unchanged) #2400
