I only got to play for a few minutes tonight but I pissed myself a couple of times at the stacks you can have. And then you can watch it all in fast forward like a Charlie Chaplin film. :lol
I think I'm going to buy it tomorrow.
-
I'm still on the fence. I can see it being hopelessly addictive.
-
It is, but only for a day or two. Same case with Trials 2, at least for me.
-
yeah, I don't think I'll buy it since it seems like one of those "OMFG best game ever! for two days and then you never play it again" kinds of games.

$10 on Amazon

Last XBLA I bought was Minesweeper Flags so I can't do much worse than that. :duh :duh :duh :duh :duh
I have a friend coming over today, we might get all the entertainment we need out of the demo by competing for times and building tracks.

Do you mean the US$5 in Amazon MP3s for free, or actually a US$10 game? 'Cos it's saying US$15 now.
-
It was $10. Too slow! I got it though 8)

THIS GAME ROCKS! loving it

Bought it last night and it's a ton of fun. The skill games are turning out to be great, I'm spending a lot more time in them than I thought I would.
I'm disappointed the level sharing feature only works with friends (unless I'm missing something).

You aren't. That is the by product of Microsoft's distinguished mentally-challenged level sharing policy. :/ It's a shame too since the level editor is incredibly in depth. I am sure some really great levels could be made, but if there is no audience, there is no point in people even bothering.
-
Damn.
Yeah, it's an incredible waste of something so awesome. What shame Microsoft didn't ease up like they did with Lode Runner.
-
Thread title change to celebrate the best XBLA game ever. :elephant
I tried my first hard track last night. This game has the best feeling of "fuck I'm never going to do that, I've reached the end of my gaming abilities" and then you actually do it and feel like a superhero.
So who's competing against my totally rubbish times? I hope you are muckhole. :-*
-
I'll be playing again tonight, but I can't be on Live, so I doubt it will track my times. :maf
That said if I topple your hillclimb score, I'll take a pic!
-
My hillclimb of 80m or so was on an early run before I started overthinking it (ie, a fluke) - I haven't been able to get past 60m since. :-[
I hope it updates your times when you next log in. Otherwise you could just practice and then set the awesome times when you're on Live. :)
I unlocked that Dreamscape track last night, it was :o.
-
Can you co-op in this? Or are you going by leaderboards?
-
I was just doing the races and trying to beat Bildi's times on the leaderboards. Didn't notice if there was any co-op option.
-
Yeah, no co-op. There's a lot of enjoyment trying to beat times in the races and records on the skill games though.
I'm thinking of making a user track of the type where you're on fire and have to ride fast. Including a section with bumpy rocks to traverse.
-
I've been playing the demo, which they did an excellent job of putting JUST ENOUGH into, without a lot of harping to buy the game, buy the game, buy the game.
It also goes to show what a decent use of load flow will get you. Not forcing the player to watch their mistake play all the way out (or worse, a replay of the flubbed attempt), and being able to go back to the beginning at any moment with NO LOAD SCREEN is so good.
-
The instant restart is very cool. Thank goodness because you end up using it a hell of a lot.
-
Played the demo for an hour without realizing it. :o
I may not buy this game for fear of it consuming all my free time. :-\
-
Beating something on "medium" has never been so satisfying.
-
Fuck the hard levels. Fist fuck them right in the ass. I couldn't even imagine how shitty the insane levels must be.
Love the game up to that bullshit though.
-
I can't pass the tutorial on hard. At the 1st checkpoint (err not the starting point, but the next) where there's a ramp that goes pretty vertical and the landing pad is WAY TOO HIGH and I can only get my front wheel on it and the front wheel doesn't actually drive so I just hang and fall and die.
-
Just spent the night beating all the hard stages.
One of the most difficult and frustrating feats I've performed in gaming for sure. Soooo hard :( The sad thing is I don't feel like I've gotten much better at it. It's more like random luck and lots of checkpoints that eventually gets me through. I'm soooo not doing the extreme stages though. Fuck that, I'm done with the game since the level sharing sucks and I can't even get any new stages.
Amazing game, but they should have had about 4x the stages for medium since it was where it was fun and challenging at the same time.
-
can't sleep. Still have the jitters from hours of this game until the weee morning. Need more of these monkeyball-ish games that drive you insane but are so, so rewarding to play.
-
I forced myself not to play this tonight so I would play other games and get to sleep because I'm tired. It was hard to resist.
Playing tomorrow though with gay abandon. :rock
-
Did you beat Technique, Bebpo? That stage pisses me off. :maf
-
As I feared, it doesn't keep track of scores/times when you're offline. :bawl
Stupid rural dial-up internet! :maf
