I also hated Resistance 2, and detest most FPS. In the application process, I actually said something like "You should let me in the beta because I'm not your average FPS loving gamer. I'm the type of person you need to appeal to if you want to succeed."

The most intriguing part is knowing that nothing is scripted. Every little gun shot or explosion is done by human players (it got that excellent sound system Halo 3 uses so far-off fights sound different with low pop-pop-pops and whatnot, with that coming from dozens of separate fights..). It feels grand.

Where the game suffers is in presentation. Pre-game Menus look bland, framerate is not stable and it's not a super detailed game. Kinda feels like Planetside did back in the day (biiig scope, rough edges).

Good stuff.

I have only played 128 matches but since those were connected to GamesCom (and EU testers) they were full or close to it. I haven't had lag problems so far (besides one, I missed with a rocket I should have hit with once).

I still haven't been able to play yet. I sat for twenty minutes in a queue, and now the servers are down for the rest of the day.

Looks better than expected. The game seems to be taking a lot of cues from COD and BF, doesn't sound like a bad thing.
