It would be funny if this game got pirated to hell and back due to the absurd price tag and Activision used it as an excuse not to bring Call of Duty 7 to the PC.

I'll still buy it.  This and Diablo 3 are the two Activision games I'm getting on PC in the future.  I just hope it doesn't become a trend.

and to balance it out, Dark Void is only going to be $40 on PC  :-\

i wasn't planning on buying it in the first place, just thought it was funny enough to post based on kotick's previous remark

and based on the price hike i'm guessing they'll try to find a way to charge for dlc map packs this time too

i don't buy games at full price anymore anyway, console or pc

i don't consider that being a dirty poor, i consider that being intelligent

It's not that $10 is some huge amount of money, but soon enough EVERY new PC game costs $10 more and you're shelling out hundreds of dollars that you normally could have spent elsewhere.

$70-80 games will pretty much mean the end of gaming for me, because i can count on one hand the number of games that were worth $60 to me this gen

if games were more expensive and DD, then wow, game over, man. game over.

if anything they should be getting cheaper since it cuts out the Gamestop, Walmarts, etc.  I mean, unless we're talking about a transition period like with what XBL is doing where it's both at the same time.

I'd probably pay that much for a good multi-player game, but a single-player focused game would have to be real neat with a real strong hook for me to bother at that price point. Then again, I've never been part of the significant purchase power, so maybe losing people like me won't matter too much.

For reference, $70-$80 is a bargain for a new game in the homeland, and the resale and home rental market is nearly non-existent. Unsurprisingly, piracy is everywhere.

The only reason the console games are usually 10 dollars more is due to license fees to the platform holders.  The PC is an open platform, so there's really no platform holder to pay, unless GFW requires a license fee, which I doubt.  Pretty ballsy move by Activision.

I love how some people are saying they'll torrent this game now.  Like Activision's greedy business practices gives them a free pass to break the law.
