Apparently it's up for some. Haven't had a chance to check but with DiRT 1 being my favourite racing game this gen, I'm psyched.
-
It even has multiplayer included. I just dorked on the UI (as gorgeous as ever) but I didnt play the game.
-
I wonder if this will break my X360 like the Dirt1 demo did.
-
Apparently load times are better? Going to start downloading at lunch so I can play it tonight. :hyper

The UI is really stylish and neat but also to the point where it's like "I think I'd rather just have a text menu to pick track, pick car, jump into race".
The game is nice if you liked dirt. It could almost be the spiritual successor to RSC2, but the handling is way too realistic which kills the fun for me cause I'm sliding all over the place.
-
The handling in this one is actually better than the first, imo. The problem I have with Dirt 1 is that the handling was changed from the earlier games. It "felt" like the axis of rotation was in the center of the car. Dirt 2 seems to have fixed this somewhat. Though, there still seems to be an issue with the cars rotating too slowly when you induce oversteer. Gorgeous game. Not sterile looking like recent pics and videos of GT5.
Really nothing beats CM on the playstation, though. CM Rally 2.0 was my favorite. Handling was awesome. Graphics were pretty good for the time.

:bow CMR2 :bow2
God I loved that game.
RSC2 and DiRT are probably my other favourite rally games, although I enjoyed the other CMR games a lot too.
-
RSC2... Yeah, Bildi. Great game. It's heartbreaking that backwards compatibility will never happen. I love me some rally games. They fit the notion of a video game better than the sim wannabes.
Sega Rally 2 on the Dreamcast. Oh god, why'd I ever sell the Dreamcast!??!??
I still have my copy of CMR2. Stylish menus even back then. What a lovely game. Colin (and his son) :'(.
I'll definitely be picking up DiRT 2. Liked the demo well enough.
-
I always went for Sega Rally 2 when I went to the arcades, it was so damn awesome. And everything about RSC2 was awesome, I remember the hillclimbs and crossovers especially, both of which felt amazing to drive. Clearly we'll never get BC. :(
And yeah, Colin and his son dying was a shock, I was pretty down about it. Real shame.

This interface............................oh my gawd, just ridiculous
-
Even though there's no rallying in the demo the point to point race was great. DiRT plus GRID's rewind function = awesome. The mud splashes were cool too since you are momentatily totally blinded - I loved that.
-
Been playing that Morocco track a fair bit trying to get a better time. I am lovin' that track.
-
DiRT is so gorgeous. I dunno wha it is but I totally sucked on Morocco. I was probably treating it too much like a street racer :lol
-
Tried the online on the weekend and it's a lot of fun. Morocco is great online since everyone is a ghost.
The baja track consisted of people who suck doing lots of shunting - what a surprise. If you could get clear of them and race the front-runners it was good (the one time I managed it anyway :-\).
-
I've been sort of against this game ever since I read about the PGR-ification, but if Bildi likes it...
-
Do you mean when they changed up the series with DiRT 1, or is DiRT 2 supposed to have some major changes? I've read pretty much nothing about it, but from the demo it seems very similar to DiRT 1.
-
I figured the whole deal with putting rally courses in metropolitan areas sounded PGR-ish, but maybe it's based on something real. It just sounded weird that they would dump sand and gravel into city streets, and I didn't like the special events in DIRT 1. Seems difficult to find a real rally game these days.
-
I liked the Trailblazing which is basically rally without a co-driver, so hopefully things like that help fill the void of rally tracks (I'm pretty sure rally will receive even less attention in this game :().
