Going by the omnious clicking and disc reading sounds I guess its a disc drive malfunction. Tends to crash during loading screens. I'll attribute this to smoking indoors and call Nintendo tommorrow. What's the usual wait time for repairs? I guess I'll finally opt for a laptop now, I have about $700 to burn.

Did you try the Wii Lens Cleaning Kit? Outside of that, yeah, send to Nintendo.

Yup. Smacking it like a caveman helped more, but it stopped streaming music in brawl during an online match before it failed again. Do I have to prove my warranty? Whats the time on that anyway? I got it in nov 2008.

"Thanks for buying 10 year old tech, sucker!"
Better than going through 5 360s. Any other product in any other industry would never suceed with such failure rates. You guys are like addicts.

That is true.
Having a Wii crap on you is still pretty sad.
Lowest failure rate amongst the three, and that's been true of Nintendo's consoles throughout history, not just when they have inferior tech.
Anyway, the warranty is a year, so you're all gravy. My launch Wii still works like a charm. <3

Now its time to buy a real fucking console

TIME FOR WIIPAIRS.

I think Nintendo warranties their stuff for a year from purchase so you're within that time frame. Don't know about having to prove anything though since I had to send my launch Wii in due to it freezing on Zelda but that was like, during launch.

Blue line of death
Ooh nice

the wii was designed for children and thus the exhaust fans were not made to handle second hand smoke

Well that was a painless call. They sent a label out to me and said it'll take 7-16 days. I might lose my save files though. I backed up what I could but I fear for my Brawl save. I unlocked most of the songs already :/
-
If you hack your Wii you can copy all your saves because homebrew > anything on nintendo hardware

SD cards, yo.

Did someone beat me to the punch?
Whats the buzzword for Wii hardware failure?
Every single wii out of the box is a hardware failure.
