Prestige was awesome,  ???

It was awful. A good premise ruined by an increasingly ridiculous plot and ham-handed dialogue (which was in DK too, but worked there since it was a superhero movie).

The Prestige is awesome if only for the presence of David Bowie as Nikola Tesla.

I could watch a whole movie of David Bowie as Tesla!

i'm seeing some awesome arguments for the movie here. :lol

the movie was interesting half way through, but then when they brought magic/sci-fi into a movie that was all about learning the secrets of the trade it stopped being interesting, became ricidulous, and fell through its own plotholes.

Nolan's WORST film, followed by the ok Batman begins.

The Dark Knight and Memento are great though, and i'm looking forward to the film.

We don't need to make arguments for The Prestige. It's awesome - you're wrong! :lol

You totally forgot Insomnia, as well.

Internet > twerd

History will prove me right, you goddam Nazi-sympathizers.

I did forget about Insomnia. It was well-cast, and an okay remake of a great movie.

Dont be an elitist prick and say that just because its a remake its worse (like all you folks saying the Departed wasnt as good as the original)

I havent seen the originals though.
:-\

I have seen both, though. I'm sure a lot of media is awesome without context or comparison... I did like the movie, Mr. Jump To Conclusions.

It's kind of hard to take criticism of my taste in movies seriously when it comes from someone using the nom de plume "twerd."  Just sayin!

I also don't like when people always say that the book was better. Like gee thanks but were watching the movie now.

I really hate when people laud the MOVIE of the Prestige because of the novelty of the plot, the twists etc. since they all came from the book!

Plus, i read the book before it was even optioned or any of you cavedwellers had heard of it, so I am obliged to champion it to boost my ego. So there. me > movie watchers

Another clear example of the movie being better than the book is Children of Men.  I can honestly say that this is the one time I'm glad MAF has gone on walkabout, because otherwise he'd be rushing in here to try and contradict me despite all the evidence to the contrary.

This sounds like a Ben Stiller sketch.

I remember liking the Ben Stiller Show, and it took me forever to stop grouping him mentally with the Cross/Oedenkirk axis of alt-comedy.

How is "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence"? I love the title track but never watched the movie (in regards to Bowie in cinema).
