Title: Travelbores - I'd like like your advice
Post by: The Business on September 17, 2009, 07:53:45 AM
If you were in North America and had a week holiday that you wanted to spend in Europe and an Arab country (North Africa/Middle East) where would you go and how would you do it?  Please consider costs & logistics.  Thanks!

What are your priorities? Food, shopping, sightseeing or sex?

France isn't really that much further than Spain. I don't think I'd want to try to see Paris in a few days time, but it can be done...

Maybe the south of France, or even Italy? Florence or Venice are easy to knock out in a few days, IMO.

Eh, I'm a history dork, so I would scope out these cities Alexandria, Istanbul (Constantinople), Jerusalem, Rome, Athens, etc. :P

Although, Malaga and Tarifa Spain should have some Carthaginian ruins.

Would you want to see all of those in a week? I was kind of assuming weeklong holiday meaning three days in one place>day of travel>three days in another. If I only have three days, I'd avoid the largest cities.

Three days in a really interesting place would seem like a bit of a tease to me. :P
