That just has you doing duck movement. If you are moving full speed in duck soldiers hear you from a good bit away. If you slowly tilt the analogue you won't make a sound.

They took those out intentionally for game design purposes. They were both in portle ops so it's not like they couldn't do it. The wall walk has been useless for a while and now that there is the MGS4 style crouch run in Peace Walker there's no point in having crawl. Going belly down or against a wall is now a last minute save-your-ass-by-upping-your-camo-to-be-invisible move. Makes you play a little differently than the previous MGS game, which is a good thing.

I love MGS gameplay too, but they keep over-complicating an already complicated formula. The first game had the simplest control scheme and even then every button did at least two different things. MGS2 kind of streamlines some things, and then from MGS3 and on it just gets worse and worse in terms gameplay imo. I understand the love MGS3 gets, but the controls are crippling. I never understood why Kojima just doesn't return to the Ghost Babel canon or make a fucking 2D MGS for the PSP, the controls are perfect for it. Better yet, just use the same camera/control system as MGS1 where the camera is mostly over-the-head like the 2D games instead of requiring this bullshit 3D camera and shoot-em-up gameplay mixed with half-assed stealth elements.
If MG and MG2 were made with MGS1 graphics on the PSP I'd buy one this second. But nope, just more forced console games on handhelds.
Portable Ops was awesome outside the controls and boss fights. Recruiting dudes and playing as them was not "useless crap"

Holy fuck, I just noticed that playing PSOne games on TV-out now makes them full-screen! Shocked When did this happen? I have no idea if it's a GEN feature or a post-5.00 firmware feature...
btw, at least back when I was on the CFW before OE, there was a plugin that let you do full screen through TV-Out. Problems were that even at 333, games weren't full speed, and since the screen was stretched so much without cosmetic enhancements, it looked gross.
