Being honest, I'm not a huge fan of Sony. Their entire strategy behind the PlayStation is to focus on gaming as an experience last and getting a Blu-ray player in your living room comes first. Now, three years later they're trying to release a motion controller that's a little bit better than the Wii's.

He's quite the Nintendo Fanboy though.

It's actually a pretty good interview, and he goes on to state that he does not think motion control is the future of the industry.

What Groo said.

But it is. Next generation that's all console games will use.
No, they won't.
All consoles will have some form of motion control, but it will still be relegated to party game nonsense and novelty stuff. The mainstream market will not cannibalize the hardcore segment, which will still prefer controllers to waggle.

How many game soundtracks have you made?
I wasn't disagreeing with him, just stating how obvious it is that Sony is using the "me too" strategy

Yeah, Reznor's a big gamer... I remember an interview of him on the radio back in 1999, right when he was touring in Buffalo, and he was talking about how awesome the Dreamcast was. Not really that big into NIN anymore, but much respect.

He strikes me as an achievement whore.
Strike out achievement and you'd still be right.

I'm assuming you have a general idea of what the sales numbers of things like Wii Play and Wii Sports Resort are, right? Accessibility is the future of ... anything that hopes to be popular. I'm sure you'll still see the legacy franchises on traditional platforms because they still sell well enough. But when it comes to what is being advertised its going to be natal and wagglewand software.
edit: Read some of the interview. They're right that the importance of the wagglewand has more to do with simplicity than anything else.
