AT&T can take the piss on the iphone.  My wife and I took ours back after a week due to the unbelievable amount of dropped calls and lost signals.  They can't even do MMS right....I don't give a shit if the iphone would tax any cell phone companies network...what the fuck do we pay them for....shittiest cell company in the country.

I don't. That service is free with my BlackBerry, which also has AIM, Yahoo, MSN, e-mail and Internet access, and has been for years.

I've had less problems with AT&T than any other service provider I've dealt with in the past, but I'm sure that varies by region.

Anyway, :piss iPhones :piss2 I always think of that episode of the Cosby show where Cliff buys so much useless shit from the hardware store that Claire gets him banned. You are Cliff, iPhone users

And yet, somehow the iPhone is still better.  :smug

edit:  I don't even use Blackberry service atm, and it's still a better phone design/system than anything Apple's tried to develop.

I downloaded the update last night but haven't used it yet.  Hell, I'm still having trouble to use the copy and paste feature from the 3.0 update.  Trying to copy an entire URL is a freaking nightmare for me.  I either get only a partial selection and when I expand it out to get the entire address I can't get the copy option to come up.  Whenever I touch the selected text it usually just unselects the highlight so I got to do it over and over and over again.

yeah, the iphone software is awful and everyone who owns one is always complaining about it.  :smug

The blackberry trackball isn't a pain in the ass and the menus are very intuitive :smug

ITT we say things on the internet that can't be repeated in public :smug

But the marble madness port that'll inevitably end up on the blackberry app store will be pretty kick ass :smug

There is a Select All option, you fail. Unless you mean copying URLs out of a block of text. Trying to highlight something specific is a pain in the ass, yeah. I'm really sick of my iPhone tbh. Too much bullshit.

You've sold me, sir.  I'm already rushing out to get rid of this antiquated technology for a new iPhone.  I hear it even has a camera.

What kind of distinguished mentally-challenged fellow pays for SMS messages on a phone that can use AIM, Yahoo, etc?

Doesn't AT&T count AIM messages as text rather than data? I think they do.

Well, Sprint doesn't do that. I don't think Verizon does either.

Quote

So AT&T finally pulled the MMS trigger on Friday. And only the most optimistic among us could’ve possibly thought things would go smoothly.

Less than a day after the feature’s activation, reports already started flowing in about outages and thwarted MMS messages. The carrier’s customer service reps admit MMS latency issues nationwide, with no known estimated date of repair yet.

Okay, I may have my cynical pants on, but really, who didn’t know this was coming? We’re talking about a carrier whose network wasn’t quite up to snuff for all the communication capabilities the iPhone delivers. In trying to beef up their systems, AT&T had to delay gratification in providing one of the most requested (and let’s face it — most mundane) of features. And for what? After all that, it still doesn’t work.

Is AT&T’s network about as advanced as a series of sticks and rubberbands held together by Elmer’s glue? I’m really starting to think so.

The only question left is not whether this is a #FAIL (obviously), but rather, how big a fail is it? For myself, I know I can’t send a single pic. What about you? Are there any blessed few for whom this service actually works?

trackballs, thumb buttons, whatever, the software will still suck.  building upon a solid software foundation > new phone + new software every time.  blackberry sux.  dirty poors, saint's row 2, republic of gamers smh

the iphone is a piece of shit.  second worse device (after the 360) i have ever owned for reliability.

I owned lots of blackberries and they all caught fire spontaneously while in my pocket.   Least reliable device ever.  The iphone actually cools down my pocket on hot days and warms it up on cold ones.  Most reliable device I've ever owned and is conscientious of my needs.
