Q: Looking at some of your other franchises, are we going to see another SSX?
Alain Tascan: Ah, SSX. We have a big catalogue and we were talking about what people like. I think this is something we will look at in the future to see if it makes sense to revive the franchise.
Q: Well, SSX was a very popular franchise and has a lot of fans – at the moment do you think there's sense in bringing it back?
Alain Tascan: It's a little bit early to talk about it, but I feel... I know internally it is a franchise that people love because it was successful and good, and it reminds me of when we were young, and I feel if the market is there and is ready for a new one then we'll consider it.
They should do an XBL Marketplace version of Tricky, then begin building a case for a full-fledged sequel if the sales are decent.
If they have this much trouble remembering games from the previous gen, there's not much hope for games from the the previous decade. :(They should do an XBL Marketplace version of Tricky, then begin building a case for a full-fledged sequel if the sales are decent.
Awesome and sensible idea. It seems EA had a similar idea with Blur but haven't followed up at all.
The only Blur I found is an Activision/Bizarre Creations thing, according to wikipedia. What is this thing of which you spake?
Why aren't they as aware about ROAD RASHThis. Criterion should be bringing it back. :maf
Yeah, the Wii game. It was kind of a remake featuring facelifted tracks from SSX3 and On Tour.
It committed a sizeable crime by not having any voices, but the dynamic soundtrack was so unbelievably awesome I managed to live without the voices for this instalment. While not as good as the virtually untouchable SSX/Tricky/SSX3 it was a gigantic step in the right direction after the abhorrent lifeless abomination of On Tour.
Originally it was to be an Xbox game but then got moved to the Wii. I think the original intent was to introduce new people to the series and kind of catch them up to where things are.
You can read the impressions of the hardcore SSX community if you are after an opinion virtually devoid of any console bias:

Blur controls were fine aside from usual Wii annoyances, but they needed more work on the ubers. Once you figured out what the game wanted in terms of motion for ubers it was OK, but figuring that out was a challenge with some.
The best thing about Blur was a sign that EA were moving away from On Tour and back towards SSX3. Oh, and the soundtrack.
Sorry lyte, I can't accept the opinion of anyone who calls On Tour anything other than a disgusting repugnant disgrace.
The controls are the worst seen in the series due to the right analog stick being for tricks as well as presses meaning you can be pressing and then pull of an uber on a tiny bump in the road just because you left the ground for a moment, the tracks sucked unless you loved mowing into trees, the soundtrack sucked massive donkey balls, and perhaps most gravely there was absolutely no SSX personality in the game whatsoever.
Blur included SSX3 tracks, had an great dynamic soundtrack, and although missing voices which is a terrible sin, brought back in a lot of the little elements that make the SSX experience during racing.
Blur may not be great but it had some great elements whereas On Tour had zero.
And yet it was all ruined by sucky waggle. If you want to play SSX3 tracks, play SSX3! I sold off Blur and got SSX Tricky back (couldn't find SSX3 at the time)/

SSX Blur :'(
The biggest boggle is still the decision to ditch all the character-driven personalities and the announcer, and get all dull with On Tour. Oh, but the GC version had MARIO! :hyper
:-\
I've got Tricky on PS2, SSX3 on GC, and On Tour (the good version) for PSP. Still have Freekstyle too. Good enough if nothing else ever comes along.

You can't go wrong with Tricky or SSX3!

Remake Tricky and give me the ability to level up Kaori once more into a snowboarding beast!

also make sure if you get any version to get the PS2 versions since all the others were missing moves due to lack of buttons.
This is typical SSX:

(On Tour PSP is more like SSX 3, not as good as SSX3, but still better than console On Tour. Blur is baaad.)

BEST.
SPORTS.
GAME.
EVER.

if there's a new SSX I DEMAND a new Amped
Peak 2 is my favorite but peak 3 is close. What sells me on Peak 2 are the stages where you have to grind on trees that fall because of a thunderstorm.
Amazing.
SSX3 is pretty much the perfect snowboarding game.
I remember it came out at the same time as 1080 Avalanche and Amped 2 and it just embarrassed both of those games (Amped 2 was still great)if there's a new SSX I DEMAND a new Amped
wasn't there another 360 Snowboarding series that came out? all I remember was that it had a really similar adjective title and that they were trying to make it more realistic. How did that turn out?
SSX Tricky 2 on 360/PS3 & bring back the announcer Rahzel please.......
How could they ignore a franchise that had great sales, and almost universal praise ?

I think EA Sports Big Canada closed down
