Any ideas why it would die just by playing a DVD? The weather in my area dropped by about 10 degrees F this week. Could the rapid change in temperature be a factor?
How should I box it?

The solder is cheap and to avoid paying fees in California they avoided using lead. So the cheap solder doesn't handle temperature changes well, and eventually lets the chips flex off the board from the expansion and contraction from the heat.
So actually turning it on and off frequently does more damage than running it for a long time. You know how your house creaks at night? Same shit in an Xbox, except apparently the support beam in the bedroom likes to fail.

I"ll give you an apology when you admit that 360 is teh best evar.
If you had a PS3 this would'n't have happened. Sucks it happens in the holiday season when all these big name xbox games are coming ou- oh, wait....
ok, I love my 360 because Live is better.
Yeah, good luck getting a "new" xbox out of them. Last three times I've sent my RRoD or shitty broken disc tray in, i've gotten the same fucking one back, just fixed. Don't kid yourself.
