Wow, that was easy. Can I transfer files to my ipod without the supershitty itunes now?

i have cydia installed already, and winterboard

i also installed icy and rock as alternatives

I need some suggestions for app organization - what's the best folder app i can use to organize all my games and crap?

also, how do i use custom themes?  do i just install them and run them through winterboard?

Why would I jailbreak? I think the current interface and iTunes are fine.

Basically to install some apps and tweaks that Apple will never approve. There's more to it than piracy, themes, and iTunes.

What kind of tweaks and apps? Thus far I haven't seen anything that makes jailbreaking seem worthwhile.

yeah, i think i'm gonna have to restore my touch

whenever i power it off, the only thing that pops up when i turn it back on is the itunes/usb symbol, so i have to run the blackra1n program every time

if i can't figure out what's going on without having to restore, i probably just won't install it again, as restoring is a pain in the ass and takes forever

I love me some hackin', but I ended up getting rid of the jailbreak stuff on my iPhone.  It made everything run slower, although things may be different now.  The stuff I used the most were the custom themes and the video camera.

I actually don't mind paying $2-3 for a game or app, and that's coming from someone that has "rented" dozens of PSP/DS games over the last few years. I will be happy if I can transfer files to my ipod without having to use a crippled excuse for software.

I loved my Creative Zen. I could just plug it in and open the file directory, or even easier with the software installed I could right click any media file and there was a convenient little option that read "Transfer to Zen Media Library"  :'(. So easy and intuitive. With itunes there is none of that. Plus it you have to convert your files over to whatever their format is :piss2

Custom themes would definitely slow your device if you're not using a 3GS or 3G touch (though there are some solutions, like BossPaper), but there are some good apps worth checking out that aren't themes.

Are there any good emulators btw? I haven't tried looking for any yet.

I only used the wallpaper option.  I jailbroke my friend's wife's phone earlier this year, and she said the same thing...then I knew it wasn't just me and I got rid of it oo.  I have a 3G iPhone BTW.

Never bothered with any emulators other than SCUMM.  I'm not big on touch screen controls trying to emulate d-pads and buttons.
