info there

they basically took the kindle and slapped a multi-touch lcd screen on the bottom for navigation/keyboard/etc.  Plus it has wi-fi and 3g, and since it's not the kindle, it's actually fairly open for what formats you can use on it.

yeah, that's how I feel.  But I still follow each one that comes out and I really do consider buying it.

and Borders is alright.  I don't have much experience with Barnes and Noble since there isn't one near me.  Last time I went to one, they got all pissy when I looked through books without buying them.  The local Borders has couches around the store and let you read whatever you want.

I just buy all my books on Amazon, pretty much.

And oh yeah, the one time I ordered from Borders.com, it took me 4 months to get my copy of Absolute Watchmen.

oh, I rarely buy anything from Borders.  I'm just talking about the brick and mortar stores.  I order everything from Amazon unless there is a really good deal Borders has.

I work at a Borders during my breaks and it's fucking pain.  The corporate ladder and politics that goes on there is ridiculous and their new savings rewards program is a fucking joke that doesn't give hardly anything back to the customer.  Borders are just cheap motherfuckers.  Not to mention I never get scheduled as a floor worker, I almost always work 9 straight hours as a cashier.

This is the first ebook that I think looks worth it. If there's some sale for $199 I'll probably get it for my fiance for Christmas. Or maybe I'll do it anyway who knows.

249USD is not bad for all that. But I still don't know why Stanza on iPhone / iPod Touch doesn't get more love by default. But I can understand the desire for a bigger screen. What's the difference between a regular screen on the iPhone and this "e-paper" stuff these things are touting?

I'd nab this if I could get my magazines on it. But I can't.

The e-ink stuff is basically like reading paper.  It sounds kinda weird, but if you do ever see it for yourself, it is so much better than reading off a regular screen.  For me, the actual screen size has very little to do with me wanting one.
