Not that I necessarily buy what analysts are selling. I generally think of analysts as potentially lower than marketers, so take this for what it's worth. But it does seem like the "Blah-blah Hero" series has been pushed into oversaturation.

Anyone interested in DJ Hero will be able to pick it up for US$50 in January, and US$30 in February. Retailers hate big box inventory.

Yeah, I'm hearing good things about it online. Too bad about the price. It should have been 70 tops with the controller. I still can't believe there's a 200 buck version.

I was really disappointed by the lack of change in RBU. Amplitude is way overdue for an update. Although I'd prefer the multiplier sign doesn't cover up gems again.

Hey, I want it to not suck, and it would be super neat if there was a robust, innovative genre forming here in the DJ Hero/Scratch biosphere, but Activision is playing some shitty Red Card tactics, and still there won't be a lot of movement on this.

Oh, and the DLC will be overpriced as hell, won't it? Didn't I see 300 spacebucks per track somewhere?

It makes sense. Each song is twice the licensing, plus it has to be a new mix.
It's more about the cost of effort to make it, versus length of play for value, sadly.

I paid US$50 for it and felt good about the price.

The controller's OK, but the L/R channel switch is annoyingly light, offers insufficient tactile feedback for returning to "center"/default position, so it's very easy to overshoot it, blow your multiplier, etc.

Something about the main menu flow feels clunky. Part of it is the actual flow from main menu to game, a larger part is that they've largely ignored the DJ controller for menu navigation, whereas in Rock Band it is simple and intuitive to use the actual instrument controls to navigate the menus.

Music choices are great if you like mashups/dance music.
