Title: IE8 scripts problems
Post by: Smooth Groove on October 23, 2009, 12:51:27 AM
I love IE8 but certain sites take forever to load in IE8 while they load instantaneously in Firefox.  Usually, I get some error message about a script running slowly.

Is there any way to fix this as I'd rather just use IE8 100% of the time?

I love to drink bleach, but it really burns my throat and stomach. Is there any way to make it stop burning because I'd like to just drink bleach 100% of the time.

try adding this site in compatibility mode:

tools --> compatibility view settings --> add.

or try running in no add-ons mode:

start --> all programs --> accessories --> system tools --> IE8.

Firefox is only useful if you are like using a bazillion extensions. If you just want speed Google Chrome whips Firefox and is just a little faster than IE8, which offers far better usability and is the official evilbore browser of now and forever.

Also, the sites that are running bad-can you tell if the scripts are ad-related? That's where I usually get hangups, outside of a few intranet apps that were obviously coded by college co-ops hopped up on goofball.

Yeah, Firefox is kinda lagging these days, in performance, reliability and security (AFAIK it still hasn't implemented protected mode/low IL).  Chrome 3 > IE8 > Firefox 3.5

Chrome is just the best browser on Windows these day.  I love it.
