Title: A bit of online dating help
Post by: PhoenixWright on November 01, 2009, 07:41:27 PM
I really don't know where else to turn for this, so;

I found a profile, and me and this one seem to have alot of interests in common, I speak her native language (sjhe's not too good at English,) and like her, i haven't had many relationships. How do I get that into a message without it looking like I'm just spouting lies to get into her pants.

The point of online dating is to meet up, why not just... say that?

Well, I'm not looking for casual sex, I'd like to get into a relationship, and she seems like a good fit. I don;t want to come off wrong here.

Online dating is horrible. The one girl who responded to me told me that she "had very high standards."  :gloomy

Well, you never know if they'll respond to a request to meet up so fast. I've lost girls for not meeting up fast enough and then I've gotten a date in the first message. The one I went out with Friday said she likes to talk a bit first. I'd rather feel her out than put that in a first message.

Just send her a simple email, mention some of her interests (but not all of them) that you are also interested in... maybe make mention you know some of her native language (I assume Japanese?) and see if she writes back. I send about 3 or so emails back and forth before suggesting to meet up. If she's into coffee, take her to the Witches Brew... the chicks LOVE that place.

Good advice. If you ask to meet too early you'll sound creepy. Remember that she probably gets tons of messages/views a day, so try to be interesting/real without sounding like a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow

With all the recent buzz around the growing pick-up artistry industry, do you guys think there's a market for CRM and business-intelligence software targeting that niche?

Well, it depends. Isn't BI going the way of Knowledge Management nowadays, regardless of the market?

Can you draw me an ERD and/or DFD of your proposed CRM; maybe we can meet over coffee tomorrow?

Online Dating is horrible. Everyone is masking their real intentions and juicing up their personality via text.

Yeah, it says something when I went out with 30-40 different girls this year via Match (there was one week where I went out with 5 girls at once), and the girl who my friend set me up with (his gf's sister's best friend), I liked the best by far. Have my 5th date with her this weekend!  :-*
