From what I understand, you can't use it with Gamecube games. And all VC games can be played with the Gamecube controller or the Wii remote. So what's the point of the classic controller?
-
If you don't have a GC controller and dl N64 games.
-
I don't see why n64 games can't be used with wiimote + nunchuk
-
Why the double analog sticks? Can it be used as a regular controller for Wii games?
-
I might be used for original Wii games released on the Wii Shop Channel.
The remote and nunchuck doesn't have enough buttons for n64 games.
-
Th real question is why it cant be used for gamecube games.

It could be, if Nintendo really wanted it to. The triggers might be an issue though.

The real answer to this question? They want you to have to buy a Gamecube controller to play Gamecube games. It's that simple.
Also, for those who are wondering, the Classic controller does work a lot better for many of the older games than the Gamecube controller. If you remember, the Gamecube controller has a pretty lame d-pad, and those older games often require a good one.

I'm fine with the Wiimote. Why buy more shit when the wiimote is fine?

Dude, you can only use the Wiimote for some of the virtual console games. It doesn't have enough buttons for most of them.

Umm..TG16, Genesis, and NES are fine right here. SNES doesn't count because currently aren't any worthwhile NES VC games.

Uh F-Zero.

How many face buttons did the Genesis have? 3. How many does the Wiimote have? 2.
Yes, some Genesis games only use 2 buttons, but many used all 3. Also, the "a" button on the Wiimote doesn't really count as a regular button IMO. It's way out of place to be used with any sort of efficiency.
