Good for X360 owners. They definitely need their exclusives*
*superior version on PC.

It's funny to see 360 users acting all smug about getting VALVe's console left-overs as if they even fucking come close to what you get on the PC.
-
At least they get leftovers. :teehee

Yet PS3 owners are bitching for these leftovers.

actually, it's a perfectly fine replacement. the biggest loss is mouse+kb and, of course, the TF2 DLC.
-
Big mistake.
Now that PS3 will be selling 20-30 million per year, Valve just sealed their fate.

Pretty much. The 360 version of L4D had all the content the PC version did. I actually own the PC version, but other than Disposable White Guy, I don't have any other friends that play the PC version. I get a group of guys to boot up their 360 copies in a heartbeat, though.
-
and the graphic boost isn't all that big either, aside from the usual 60fps, AF, and AA. Source engine is still 6 years old or whatever, no matter what.
Of course, the 360 version of the orange box has exclusive motion blur :teehee

come on ps3tards, don't act like you don't want it :lol

I played the original with viz, great rumbler, and kestastrophe quite a few times. That's no excuse. :wag

I bopught and played through Orange Box. I'd definitely get L4D if it came to the PS3, but I'm not complaining about not getting it.

I don't think the Boresquad was assembled then, and sorry - real folks take precedent (my brother, West Coast pals, friends and co-workers). :P

I don't. I have no temptation to buy a VALVe product on anything other than Steam. Mods + patches + Steam + kb/m.

I'd kill for this on my 360 version of TF2... but since I'm playing some on PC now, I'm not as worried anymore.
We need to get a Boresquad TF2 division. I'd like to play with all of you guys sometime.

It's been a pain and a half to get working on my laptop, despite that L4D runs just fine, so that's a no go for me.
EDIT: I think Gabe has talked about relaunching Team Fortress 2 with all new content as a possible XBLA title.

???
That doesn't make any sense to me. I would think that at MOST they should put a free patch up on the Marketplace for it. I mean, the updates are free for PC players, they shouldn't charge console players for them.
On a side note, I played TF2 on 360 the other night and kept hitting my dispenser waiting for it to upgrade. :'(

I am pretty certain that it is MS doing, not valve. For instance, the newest L4D campaign was free on PC but it was $7 on 360. They are weird about free content on their platform
-
Yes the paid DLC had nothing at all to do with Valve. Valve wanted them to be free, but MS wouldn't allow it.
-
I'd be down for a Xbox TF2 boresquad. I got yo engineer right here.

:'( With the way my compy lags, Engie is about all I can play well. I can Medic, just as long as morons don't try running circles around me or going straight through me to stand behind me all the time, yelling "MEDIC! MEDIC! MEDIC! OH MY GGOD YOURE SUCH A BAD MEDIC WHAT THE HELL" ugh.
Boresquad TF2, I'm feeling it. Someone start a thread and signups. We can load a team and take on the WORLD.
-
I'll play TF2 PC, but not 360 :yuck

Yeah, I remember reading that MS only lets Activision put out free Guitar Hero DLC for every 4 pay packs they put out. Hell, on the Wii, you can only get 1 of the free Rock Band DLC songs. I don't even know Nintendo's policy on it, other then it's very distinguished mentally-challenged.

What's your specs?

I gave up TF2 360 after I blasted a spy 3 times in the head with a shotgun and they didn't die

tbh, I don't remember. I built the PC a few years ago.
I'll look when I get home.

you dirty console owners can fight for our scraps if you wish. I do not attend to the affairs of mere dogs.
-
My system (I just remembered)
Processor: AMD Athalon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs)
Memory: 1024MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 XT 256MB
Currently running at 1920 x 1080
I don't really know much about hardware. ::) Good or bad?
-
I'm pretty sure that was the top of the line gpu when Half-Life 2 came out so it should be able to run that well. Maybe that means it could also run L4D2 since that's a Source engine game?
-
I don't know about that CPU, but you could use a GPU upgrade (256MB :yuck) and more memory. At least adding memory is cheap
-
I think that since I run such a high resolution, it lags. I don't remember too many issues before, other than on WoW I used to get disconnected on some graphic intensive boss fights. That may have been a connection issue though.
I think I may still buy a new computer, I don't know yet. Depends on how money looks this christmas.
