he's not bitter. taking a break is a GOOD thing and more of you should do it. it's only a problem when there's an announcement.

I think this only applies to message boards and maybe social network sites.
All in all, I think your doing something wrong when you start needing a break from leisure activities.

Someone taking a break because of the nerd proletariat not falling in line - he must be an Icon!

I wish him luck on his break.  I've tried, and failed, numerous times

I miss eel. We used to play 1943 a lot during its hay day. Then nothing.  :'(

Top notch bro to talk to.

I need to get back to listening to these (and podcasts in general).  Since my ipod (nano) broke I've been reading books on the commute instead of listening to guys talk about video games/etc (in anticipation of coming home to play video games).

Just finished listening. Good show.

My friends and I do a fair amount of system linking with our 360's. The problem for us lies in that we all live in a pretty rural area where the internet isn't always available, and there's inadvertently always one guy showing up without the latest patch for whatever game is being played that night. So the rest of us wind up having to do that "secret code" that wipes all the patches you've ever downloaded from your system before we can play, otherwise we can't all connect. It's a minor thing, and I'm sure we are very much in the minority of users who have to deal with this, but I wish there was a way for the patches to be transferred from system to system, or better yet, include the ability to turn patches off within the game (I think Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the only title we've come across that has this). Because I play a fair amount offline and on, I always have to go back and re-download all these patches over again, because if I throw a title in offline, and my last save was from the patched version, the game frequently won't let me play from my saved game until the update has been reapplied.

I was actually listening to the podcast while sitting here at the lake, trying to get my laptop to recognize my 360 so I could connect it to Live via our new mobile wireless internet, which while far from perfect for playing over, would at least suffice for patches. But surprisingly, Windows 7 has stymied me so far. (I managed to pull this off fairly easily last year with a friend's similar setup, though he was running Vista.)

Finally Eel, don't feel too bad, I haven't found shit for guns in Borderlands either.

Yup. That part when he was talking about Battlefield 1942 almost brought a tear to my eye :'(. We need to play 1943 again sometime soon

I'm about halfway through.

PS: Hey, Prole, if you guys need movie reviews, I may be more readily available soon. I'm getting the internet back either Sunday or Monday.
