While StarCraft II, an upgraded Battle.Net and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm are all firmly pinned down to 2010 releases, Diablo III, StarCraft II expansion packs and Blizzard's next MMO still show a release date of the "next few years".
During a presentation in New York today, Thomas Tippl, Activision Blizzard chief financial officer, raved about the strong business done by Bliizard games. He said the division has a full pipeline of content, which he presented in the slide pictured
here.
While the lineup confirms continued World of Warcraft support and a Starcraft II launch in 2010 (with expansions to follow after), Diablo III was marked to be released in 2011 at the soonest.
That about wraps it up for PC gaming. Wake me up in 2012.
So is Torchlight the new king?At this rate, the Torchlight MMO may be out before Diablo III
Yes.
At this rate I will have played Fallout: New Vegas and probably Fallout 4 before playing Diablo III.
Again, I say
:piss Blizzard :piss2
Sweet, no need to buy new PC hardware until 2012 at the earliest.

pretty much.

It's a Blizzard game. You'd probably be fine with 2006 hardware. That about wraps it up for PC gaming. Wake me up in 2012.

There's still the expansion pack for Sacred 2.
Why?
No surprise there, since StarCraft 2 is going to be 2010 (maybe).
If I *HAD* the money to piss away like Prole or wanted to make up for an incredibly small penis like Smooth Groove, that would be one thing. But I'm not well off and have an incredibly average johnson, sorry.
Why?
Because pc gaming sucks? I forgot how much I dislike it. All I really want to play are Diablo III (not coming out for forever) and old games that my years old desktop can run just fine. Everything I would want to play coming out on pc is pretty much coming out on 360 these days anyhow, and in lots of cases earlier (Borderlands) or better (MW2). I know, blah blah blah top notch pc or laptop blah blah blah better performance blah blah blah.
But it's just not worth it to me to spend that much fucking money when I have no steady job, am living off of and putting myself through school on savings, etc etc. Also, I am lazy and hate to download the bazillion patches, mods and whatnot and change settings to get something to run optimally. I prefer my lazy convenience, thank you very much. I mean, I'll do it for something like Diablo III that won't be coming out on consoles anyway and is actually WORTH IT, but for Dragon Age and Borderlands and MW2, etc etc etc? Not fucking worth it.
It always strikes me as funny that people still feel the need to prop up their chosen platform as the "best" whether it be PC or console. The more things change the more they stay the same...
Just play on your fucking platform. Nobody gives a shit whether people think their platform is the most awesome. It only makes you look like an ass.
Yeah dude, I've bought FOUR, count them FOUR games at $60 this whole gen. Granted I didn't bother to get into it until last year so there was a nice, large backlog of cheap used shit for me to jump into, but still. And I hardly think that saving $10-20 a pop on a game every now and then makes up for the hundreds of dollars in price discrepancy in between buying a new console and building a top notch pc rig or laptop, not to speak of the inevitable graphics card update two years after you build it, etc etc etc.

The big flaw in your reasoning is that you need a top notch PC. But if you are content with 360 performance, a mid-range PC would still top it by quite a lot. 360 has an advantage in the community stuff, assuming you are already into that community.
I can't believe after this generation there are still console gamers that hang onto that old "PC gaming is expensive hurrrr" schtict. Go buy more 60 dollar games that last 10 hours and peripherials that work for one game and you never use again.
Just admit that you enjoy simpler games and getting butt-raped by proprietary technology. Don't insult everyone's intelligence by suggesting otherwise.
Sorry about linking to kotakuexplain this anti-kotaku stuff to me plz
Can't play King's Bounty on the 360. Looks like PC wins again. :smug

i only use the republic of gamers laptop these days -- i sold my desktop. it still massively outperforms the 360/ps3. dragon age was $10 cheaper and looks/plays an order of magnitude better, and has a whole toolset/mod community. :bow pc gaming :bow2
Did you download the Armored Princess demo? They made a bunch of great tweaks to the game. I'd personally wait for that to come out.

I'm not even really going to get into this because its against the very point I'm making which is I don't care and I'm annoyed that it keeps coming up when it's the same fanboy shit that people are always ragging on GAF about but it still surfaces over here too.
I have a more than capable PC that can play the top games. I also have a 360. Some games I want on the PC. And some games I want on the 360. I couldn't exist without one or the other although I play my 360 more than my PC because my tastes generally lie more towards consoles games. When people start this pointless argument its just another version of dick measuring that drives me insane. Who gives a fuck what you are playing your games on. Talk about the game. Not the platform.
Anger not directed at you but this general bullshit topic that keeps cropping up when it has nothing to do with anything.
republic of gaming laptops?
see, this is what happens when you live in Japan... what be these items?
the republic of gamers laptop, aka the ROG, is the hardware we SHOULD have gotten in our consoles this generation -- every console-to-PC port runs at a full 720p+ without frame drops, and often has better textures and effects.
:ow pc gaming master race :bow2
I like EB gaming side because of it's discerning tastes and usually intelligent opinions...Now I see the top two threads being one that's circa '06 lamenting about motion controls and one that instantly devolved into PC vs. Consoles ratfucking

real talk: did anyone honestly think DIII was a 2010 release?
:'(
as with most fanboys, hope and hype are but one letter different, and i often cannot distinguish my loot-filled dreams from the immediate future
Come, let Torchlight soothe that loot-shaped hole in your heart. :heart
beat it twice, what is left
