Can I say it was incredible? And totally awesome? And way better than I ever expected a Russell T. Davies episode to ever be? If you were ever a fan of Tennant's run this is worth obtaining tout de suite.
I dunno, maybe I'm just a junkie coming down after not having a fix in six months, but it seemed like such a brilliant return to form. spoiler (click to show/hide)
I love how we get this great rousing speech from the Doctor and we're all pumped as he's about to save the space station as it crumbles. Then only 10 minutes later we realize he's gone mad with power and all those pretty words are perverted.
Maybe it's just the shock of how good the episode was versus how dull and by-the-numbers the previews made it appear to be. It looked like it was going to be a pretty standard romp like Planet of the Dead, but it turned out to be so much more. I am of course very intrigued to see how Tennant's run will be concluded. My totally off-the-wall guess is that spoiler (click to show/hide)
Donna will have to strike him down to prevent him from becoming another Master
.
That was fucking... AMAZING

The spoiler at the end, oh my shit. It's like Britain knew exactly what to get me for Christmas. God damn yes.
The entire last bit was fucking awesome

He got so cocky and power mad, and you were like "FUCK YEAH! MAKING TIME HIS BITCH" and not minutes later did we see him suffer for it.
oh, and Christmas :hyper

Is it a two-part episode? I'm looking around for it (I had forgotten it... :'( :'( :'( ) And I only see part 1. Any Doctor Who is gonna be good for me right now, I believe.
Part 1 was released Christmas Day, Part 2 is supposed to be out New Years Day (I think).
The new special came out yesterday (End of Time) and it sucks balls.
I agree. Though the ending was kind of exciting.
The ending was only exciting because of spoiler (click to show/hide)
Timothy Dalton ( :heartbeat)
I watched it, and I loved it! And while I didn't exactly like

every human on earth turning into the master,
I did like that spoiler (click to show/hide)
the "Doctor Donna" was unaffected, as was her grandfather since he was in the shielding.
And :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o HOLY SHIT at

Timothy Dalton and the FUCKING RISE OF THE TIME LORD EMPIRE AGAIN WHAT THE SHIT.

End of Time part 2 aired today.
It's not as bad as part 1 and has some good moments. Worst part of the entire episode was spoiler (click to show/hide)
the new Doctor. The trailer showing off the next series doesn't do him any favors either.
Also, trailer for next series

It's already aired over there? Planning on watching it and the Kings game tonight. My problem with part 1 was that the big setup of spoiler (click to show/hide)
turning everyone into the master
has to obviously be undone somehow, which gives it no dramatic feeling. You know it will be changed back, so how do you make it interesting?
Watched the second part last night. I wasn't a big fan of the first part but the second part was better. Still not a fantastic episode for Tennant to go out on, but not horrible.

Things I didn't like:
-From the last few minutes, the new doctor. Maybe I'm still sore over losing Tennant and I'm sure I'll warm up to him during S5, but his role in this episode didn't convince me at all. I trust Moffat to make this work though.
-Martha/Mickey being married. It was random and unnecessary. Small nitpick though.
-The fact that we didn't find out who the woman was in the episode, we had to find out through commentary. That's just dumb.
-The gun scene. Recocking the gun every time he switched between the Master and Dalton :lol Just bad.
-Everything over the past two+ hours was solved by simply shooting a machine. Really?
Things I liked:
- John Simm and David Tennant - both were great, as usual and pretty much made the episode enjoyable
-Timothy Dalton - He was cheesy and totally hamming it up, but this is Who and therefore perfectly acceptable. He obviously had fun with the role and it was just as fun to watch.
- The true meaning of "he will knock four times." Not what I expected.
- Most of the last 20 minutes. Was having the Doctor visiting all his companions cheesy? Yes. Did I enjoy it regardless? Sure. It was infinitely better than the S4 finale, shoving them all into the plot. A couple of minutes of closure per companion was nice. It really shows that this is the end of an era and the show is going through a reboot of sorts.
- Donna. Fuck the haters, I like her.
-The Doctor's final words.
I may have had a lot of complaints, but I did like the episode and am DEFINITELY ready for Moffat to start. Bring on S5 :hyper
the ending was more sad for what it meant rather than how it was done

For me, Tennant is the Doctor, and in general he is definitely one of the definitive Doctor. The way he went out was a bit overdone with visiting a bunch of old companions, especially the Mickey and Martha part. I even though the Capt Jack part was a bit lame and I'm someone who likes the character's frequent appearances. The finals words were sad, though. I thought the ninth doctor had a better one despite having less time with the character.
I also wouldn't mind a special about how the doctor stopped the time war with Eccleston returning.

You see, Tennant IS my Doctor as well. I posted this elsewhere. I liked the ending, visiting the companions, because that's Tennant. His reward to himself was to see his companions one last time as himself. He interacted with them the way he thought most fitting. View it as a dying man's last request. Saving the lives of three people closest to him, giving a final goodbye to other friends, giving Donna and her husband the money that they would never have had otherwise, and seeing Rose for one last beautiful time.
The finale was amazing those final fifteen minutes were an awesome piece of fanservice, especially the rose scene.
I don't like what I seen of the new doctor and I fucking hope that geronimooooooo! is not suppose to be a new catchphrase.

"I don't want to go" :'( :'( :'(
Rewatching it, I've changed my mind a bit and like the ending more. spoiler (click to show/hide)
You knew he was going at the end of the episode, he knew it too. They shove in all that fanservice for the tenth doctor and make it seem like everything was wrapped up and settled. Then when he says he doesn't want to go, it was what I was thinking. Despite all that preparation it still took me by surprise.
Still wish there was a better captain jack scene.
actually spoiler (click to show/hide)
you knew for a long time he was going at the end of this. Between learning of the 11th doctor and hints from the specials, that is a long time to know what was going to happen.
