I have the opportunity to tomorrow so I think I might go ahead with it. So many people are against getting it, but I haven't seen much of a real reason why I shouldn't.
-
I'm not in a risk group so I can't get it wether or not I wanted it.
-
No
-
I'm doing my patriotic duty as a warm-blooded, gun-toting American and NOT getting this potentially life-saving vaccine. Take that, Obama!
-
I'm in a risk group so I should but no place has it around here. When it's readily available and I can just walk in without waiting 10 hours for the shot, I'll do it. So far I'm just avoiding large social gatherings and it's worked ok. Missed a party last weekend and it turns out everyone got something (not aids) from it; so dodged a bullet there.
-
I kind of want the disease.
On that note, perhaps I should get the vaccine.
-
i got it like a month ago
my vaccine game >
-
My school district is covering the costs for all employees who want it, so I got it yesterday.

Nope, it was AIDS. Definitely AIDS.
-
Nah, disease is the only way I'll get to use any vacation time before the end of the year. Fingers crossed!

Nope, I don't get the flu altogether too often, and I'm not in a high-risk group. And hey, in case I get it... my company gives me enough sick days.
-
I wanna get swine flu just to see what all the fuzz is about and of course to prove how much better than dirty mexicans we are.
-
I always get through flu season without too much damage, this one should be ok too.
-
my school is giving them out to students this week. I'll get it tomorrow.
-
Unless you're a child or you're forced to due to work, why would you get this shot if you live in a first world country?
-
I've been going through some weird Sick, Fine, Sick, Fine, Sick etc cycle. Its fucking weird. Is my immunity shield down or something? Sheeiiit.
-
Not yet but I can see myself getting it in the next year.
-
I don't get what this has to do with 1st/3rd world country.
Because you live in better living conditions and have better health benefits. Getting shots for the flu is fucking stupid unless you're a kid or forced to due to your job.
-
I had the flu so many times when I was young that I don't even mind it. Fever dreams are cool, and barfing isn't so bad if you've done it about 100 times. I'd definitely take the flu over strep or an ear infection
-
Why is it fucking stupid to get it if it's available?
-
If it's free or nearly free (under $10) and I don't have to wait in line, sure.
-
I think it's like $17.

They don't give out flu shots to prevent people from taking an extra couple of sick days. They do it to kill the virus before it mutates into something worse.
-
Captain Trips, babeh
-
They're giving them out at school tomorrow, but I probably won't get one.
-
I just got my regular flu vaccination, and if H1N1 comes up I'll take that too. It's not widely available here yet, AFAIK.
-
Got it today.
-
I'm with Chronovore. I probably should find a way to get it since Tokyo is just ridiculously densely populated and if it did break out, everyone would be fucked, but I'll wait until I go home for Christmas to get it I think. We'll see.
-
Gonna grab it when it's available here. Now that I'm back at the game store for the winter, all the moms bringing their kids in who are "too sick to go to school, so we brought 'em here" will be showing up soon.
-
I got it in the form of a nasal spray a few weeks back. They were giving them out for free to anyone under 45, IIRC.
-
Shit's so outside my swagger.
-
all the moms bringing their kids in who are "too sick to go to school, so we brought 'em here"
Are you serious?

Oh god, yes. Once the flu season hits, we get parades of moms with their deathly ill kids in tow, looking for a game to rent to keep them entertained while they "stay home" from school etc. They always bring them in, let them touch everything in the store, then proudly bring them up to the counter to rent or buy their game while making sure you know what a great mom they are for keeping their kids entertained through their convalescence, clueless to the fact that nobody in the store really wants to be around their sick kids. Despite my best efforts, I routinely get mega-sick at least twice a winter.
One of the worst was the mom who brought her kid in with "a mysterious rash" that their doc told them to keep away from other folks until they could determine what it was. I bathed in Purell that night. :-\
-
Just got back from getting it.
:punch Fuck you, swine bastards.
