...oh yeah, because no one here plays PS3 games :lol
I'm super lttp because I accidently stumbled in some thread and found out Shatter was Sidhe (Gripshift) so I bought it and played it today and it was awesome. Finally a brick breaking game with some cool new mechanics. Got about halfway through the game. Beat Jinfash's score :) Definitely worth my $8.
I wish there was a place to find out about legitimately good PSN games. GAF is no help because they'll tell you ever PSN game is awesome. >:(
It's not better than Gripshift though. Gripshift is the best game downloadable game ever.

I think Jinfash and Himuro are the two social outcasts that buy PSN stuff. distantmantra, lyte and Eel dabble in it from time to time, as well.
-
I wanted to buy RE2 for my brother but was disgusted by the 700mb size.
cell is too powerful to compress PS1 games.
-
y would u waste time on a ps3
-
what by who
-
sidhe, awesome NZ developers of NRL Rugby League and GRIPSHIFT
-
Gripshift demo was fantastic. I should buy it.

Replace Himuro with Distantmantra. Distant and Jinfash are two of the actual few SANE PS3-only users out there.

I haven't bought anything from psn in months. ??? Partly because I no longer have a ps3! And I'm not ps3 only like Jin and Distant! I have pc and 360!

Just beat this. It was friggen awesome. I actually saw a number of EBers as I passed them on the leaderboards (Mrbob still has me beat ;_;). Where were you guys when you were playing this to tell me how awesome it was!
I think this game has the best leaderboards EVER. Seeing realtime as you're playing your next closest friend score makes you just want to risk it all to get that crazy multiplier and then when you pass someone you go YES! and feel good and then instantly the next friend pops up and you're all intense again.
The music was really, really good. Graphics and gameplay were sooo smooth. Man, I can't wait for the next Sidhe game. They are way too good at making games!

what kind of game is this

I've bought two dozen games and tons of Rock Band stuff.

I never picked up GW2. I could only get 1 achievement out of them all in GW1. The game was way too hard for me, so didn't want to spend $$$ on GW2.

Arkanoid/Brick breaking game with a cool mechanic that you can blow air out or suck air in by holding the R1/L1 buttons. Doing that changes the direction of the ball. The ball also has a laser pointer showing where it's going. There are all different kinds of bricks, powerups, a good scoring system (suck in lots of points but watch out for sucking in bricks), a shield system that blocks things but eats at your super meter that unleashes a bullet storm when maxed and lots of cool boss fights.

Guy in the video is weird. He only plays with one ball. Your balls are you lives. You can shoot up to 4 out at one time and managing 4 balls is CRAZY but the destruction you do is utterly immense and makes the levels super fast. Risk vs. Reward.

my PSN purchases consist of Pixeljunk Monsters (hells ya), Trash Panic (pretty good), Castlevania Chronicles-PS1 (I'll never beat it, but its okay), and Braid (controversial).
As DL games go, I guess I'm a Steam man for the most part.
PS
I was surprised to see that Sidhe made the recently released Madagascar kart racing game, its beneath them, but hey, its work.
-
I suspect when you're a tiny New Zealand dev studio, sometimes you just do what you can pick up. No shame in that, particularly if the game doesn't suck and it keeps the doors open for your own IP.
-
This looks pretty good, might get it at some point.
-
They have the soundtrack up on their site to listen to as well: http://sidhe.bandcamp.com/

Playing this on the PC right now. Pretty fun. Soundtrack is pretty kick ass.
-
Sidhe - my future employers! They are the only notable game company in NZ, so Id be keen to work for them someday.

Nobody on my PS friends list has this, but I do love leaderboards. Bought it day 1 and love it. Picked it up again yesterday to grab the last trophy (beat the game no continues) and messed it up.
I never actually played Gripshift, and you say it's better than shatter? From what I've seen I find that really hard to believe but I'll check it out.
Also anyone here playing Joe Danger?! It looks awesome, my cc expired so I'm waiting for that to get it.
-
iirc I have this. bummed it off hitler iirc
-
This is probably the biggest surprise from the Steam sale for me. Really good fun
-
I'll check it out. I have always meant to pick up Gripshift, because it's like all the freaky stuff you tried to play with Hot Wheels/Matchbox cars. And getting graded on it. It's fun.
-
yeah, Shatter is really good. It's up there with Thunder and Lightning as my favorite breakout games.
-
Great game. Esp. when you get it for free via game sharing :D
yepyep :D
