Is the entire game based around flinging household items, or does it get... deeper?

You'll be able to fling the house eventually. Does that count as deeper?

This is what stopped me from buying it too.

Is Katamari about more than rolling a ball?

Is Tetris about more than spinning pieces?

spoiler (click to show/hide)
I'll get my copy soon

it is an average "game" at best.  Not that it can't be fun, but in the same way that messing around with the physics in Half-Life 2 is.

Wrong.

It's not just about moving shit around.

Later on, you have to be careful not to make too much noise or break stuff.

Also, some things go together (blocks, block holder) for more elebits.

I sure hope I get this for Christmas.  I sort of regret putting it on my list, as I would love to buy it right now.  :lol

Don't you hate that?  You put something on your list, and then realize you'd rather buy it now, but it's too late, as my wife would freak out if she saw me playing a game that was on my list.

you are right, the game does offer more than I gave it credit for.  It is growing on me, still don't think it should be a $50 game but it is getting to be a lot more fun.

Wobe I sent you a picture, hope you like it  :P

I haven't tried multiplayer yet. Yesterday was the last time I had to play video games until after the holidays, so I played Elebits story mode up through lvl 13.  I'm outside on the street now - the game is so much fun.  Comparable to Katamari Damacy, in that you're always trying to get your gravity gun more powerful so you can access new areas, trying to capture a certain number of elebits before the time is up.

My favorite Wii game to date. :-[  I'm looking forward to all the crazy maps people will be making.

It's a great game for those looking to lure children into their dungeon of molestation.

It's a fun game. No one's calling it GotY.

katamari was a launch game amirite

it's not even roughly comparable to katamari outside of the WACKY JAPPY theme

Gain doodads to interact with larger objects and expand your playfield to gain more doodads.

The game's charm and presentation isn't on Katamari's level, but it's fun to play and it's very full-featured.

edit: I'd actually say it's more comparable in structure than it is in WACKY JAPPY theme. The story isn't anything that jappy. It's actually total dog shit, but there's nothing jappy about it. It's about two busy parents who ignore their kid and shit, I don't think that's a very Japanese theme.

Well now that you're wrong about the last comment you'll switch to a new one.

Have you even played the game?

It took me a few games to get used to the Katamari controls, but after that I really wasn't failing missions all that often. This game is much easier to pick up, but I've heard the later missions get hard. With 2 or 3 different modes to each level, I can't imagine it being easy straight through. I have failed one mission (the fourth).

I don't know why I kept saying "mission."

I hear this game gets boring after awhile, but there's not much in choice of games right now and damnit I want to get one.

It seems to me like the type of game that I can replay every few months, even if I get sick of it in a week or two.

I used a gift card, so I don't really give a shit.
