I have adopted my wife's decadent European values and don't celebrate the holiday at all anymore. I do some cooking but it's not much more elaborate than the meals I normally prepare. So I'm working today, which is good because my co-worker has all the critical analysis skills of a pet rock and had to call me to bail him out at work today.

Stuffing  :-\ My mother has Celiac Disease, so this year - for the first time - we had gluten-free stuffing  :yuck

no matter what happened on your thanksgiving you should be thankful you didnt have mine

i had a botched artery surgery the day before, couldnt sleep let alone lie down comfortably that night, called my family and told them i wasnt coming to dinner, around the time when half a million people were passed out on the sofa watching football or waiting for their turn on the wii i had a one inch high and 3-4 inch long swollen mass of mysterious bodily fluid at the incision/injection site, went to the ER around 10 PM, got my crotch poked at by two men, was told that they were going to keep me overnight until the ultrasound place opens up (they closed 10 minutes before this conversation), obviously couldnt sleep at all since this was the emergency room after all and 3-5 AM is busier and brighter than noon the next day, at this point i havent slept for over 48 hours :-\, watched house marathon for four hours, noted the irony of watching a show about hospitals in a hospital and now i cant continue typing because im in too much pain to sit in a chair any longer, yeah, my life is pretty fucked

-Only members from my mom's side showed up on thursday. Today I drove down to Detroit to visit my grandma on my dad's side :bow

- It's always just my paternal grandparents and my aunt and cousins (father's side, his brother/my uncle died quite a few years ago), who I see a lot anyhow.

We had a bunch of friends over last night for a Black Friday holiday movie viewing party (Always Sunny Christmas, Christmas Vacation and Love Actually). Drank a ton of good beer last night and played some Settlers of Catan and Rock Band. I'm nursing the slightest of hangovers this morning, but it's not bad. Time to get psyched up for some flag football!
