I used to have Charter when I was in graduate school in the middle of nowhere in Central Washington. Totally sucked.

mine was over wireless (boosted 5ghz 802.11n) as well, with a bridge from the crappy dsl modem/router to the airport extreme

I pretty much get 500kb/s across the board. Torrents, uncapped downloads from RS and MU and Steam stuff.
