dismiss his Michael McDonald voice, but I dare you not to go "wtf holy shit" several times throughout the video.

Only time I said holy fucking shit was when I saw his hand.
But I don't really freak out over musical skill.

that...exactly is what I was referring to

who are you, am nintenho?

It is impressive that he is using his elbow the same way people with a hand use their wrists.
-
This guy is an engineered pussy-gettin' machine. Playing guitar AND he has a hook? It's a wonder that thing isn't rusty. :bow

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that the kid has skill, and is overcoming a disability, showing even more skill. But people playing guitars amazingly fast and skillfully doesn't really do it for me. I can respect someone the same for playing so hard the guitar bursts into flames as I can respect someone for playing a slow, simple, meaningful song.
-
I have a hard time believing there's many more meaningful songs than any Sam Cooke song ???
besides, that's pure blues guitar, one of the simplest but coolest sounding guitar-playing methods in music. I frown upon you :(
-
the beatles suck, just sayin'

I know what you mean. I actually have a hard time getting along with people who get hard ons for technical ability. Usually because those people are super passionate about technique...they will tell you how much your favorite band sucks because they aren't playing in a crazy time signature at 188bpm with the entire band playing a palindrome version of Beethoven's Symphony no.6 on triple necked guitars. Then they have the nerve to call that the essence of "talent."
I used to be that guy actually, but nowadays, I'll take the solo in "Cinnamon Girl" over Yngwie Malmsteen wankery any day.

I always love when metal heads tell me that metal is much more like classical and art music than, say, jazz is. I always lol
I mean, maybe that's true, but I don't ever remember Bach sounding like a thousand shits excreting from an anus

Look, you gotta hand it to the guy for trying. Normally this kind of thing would be out of reach, and here you are giving him the finger.

I'm not giving the kid the finger. I said I respect him and acknowledge that he has great skill. I just don't pop wood over that kind of thing.
Let me give an example. A band that a lot of people don't like, Nirvana. I really like. The music was extremely simple, yet it helped lead a generation. A beginner can pick up a guitar and play Smells Like Teen Spirit or Come As You Are, yes. Hell, those are the only two songs I can play (not very well).
I don't really expect other people to enjoy the music that I listen to. I'm pretty used to people telling me that my taste in music sucks, actually. But, I gauge "taste in music" by what you enjoy. If you enjoy what you listen to, then you have good taste in music. If you listen to music because it's popular (or in some cases, obscure), and not because you like it, then fuck you. Doing something just to be different is high school.
-
That's great. I'm probably still not going to say holy shit. I don't say holy shit at the music I listen to either. That's the point I'm trying to make.
I do not get overly impressed when people do crazy shit with instruments. Good for them, but it does nothing for me.

excellent choice of words

literally lol

Boy, do I feel trolled right about now.
-
Wow. So full of rage you missed that the first time.

MAN WALKS ON FUCKING MOON
-
Not impressed. Would be impressive if he did this with his penis.
-
Music isn't art, playing music isn't impressive;etc
:teehee
