It's up for $6.99. I'll give it a shot for that price, especially since I'm not gonna bother with Ridge Racer after seeing that it plays like crap and runs at 15fps.

There's even a Cortana rip-off who talks to you. :lol
Controls are pretty decent for iPhone, but the only other FPS I have played on there is the ultra-shitty Wolfenstein 3D port. The game also has online multiplayer over wi-fi. Pretty impressive considering the platform and touch screen controls, but nothing when comparing to FPS games on other platforms.

the ultra-shitty Wolfenstein 3D port.
What, are you for real? The official port was great and includes all the officially released expansions. Easily the best portable rendition of the game. Hell, even Carmack is proud of it and that man is insatiable. :-[
It's not the quality of the port or its content. It's the controls. I found them awful. Stayed away from Doom because of this.
EDIT: To keep on topic, apparently all the big iPhone communities are claiming this to be the best FPS on the system. More importantly, Gameloft has placed a large effort on getting it to run smoothly on every single platform. Quite unlike the recent developers cockups where they optimize games for 3GS and leave the rest of the iDevices to the wind. It's not like Gameloft concocted a miracle considering the wasteland the iPhone FPS market is comprised of, but cool to see nonetheless. I'm a little interested how this will muck up Eliminate's market. The other big multiplayer iPhone game which most notable for their interesting pricing mechanic.
I have a 3G; the frame rate is very smooth. And unlike Wolfenstein, I'm not having control issues. They did a pretty good job.
