I liked Grace, but I felt it kind of unraveled as it went on. Some cool imagery, though.
Definitely. I also felt the film really stretched suspension of disbelief to the point where it almost broke.
coralineI didn't know what to expect with this movie when I purchased it after black friday on Bluray. Watched it in 3d and the wife and I really enjoyed it.

i rarely have that problem in horror films though. i'm typically willing to follow through until the end
... Kestrastrophe, is Coraline not a gorgeous Blu-ray as well? The texture in high definition is ridiculous.
opening sequence of Star Trek:lol
I thought this was a pretty terrible year for blockbusters too.
I haven't enjoyed a single blockbuster from this year, Avatar notwithstanding.
Not even sure if I've seen 10 films this year.
Oh god I thought I was alone, it'd be a waste to create a list. Inglorious Bastards definitely takes the top spot for me regardless.
Honorable mentions: Funny People (biggest surprise of the year) and District 9.
Best was probably a toss up between The Hurt Locker and Inglorious Basterds.

Out of these, what was the best CGI movie(s) of the year?
- UP
- Fantastic Mr Fox
- Avatar
- Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
- Monsters vs. Aliens
- Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
- 9

That furry Zellweger has nothing to do with you, it was just something that popped into my head. Stop being an easy target dude.

Make it say "Yiff Yiff!" and I'll wear it as an avatar. I lost a bet with PD so I need something suitably humiliating to wear for a month or so.

watchmen was so horrible
To counter Avatar, I'm going to go see The Hurt Locker this week. Everyone keeps telling me it's awesome. If I have time, I'll go see Up in the Air, as well.
Hurt Locker is even better after you've seen Avatar though. :-*
I'm currently stuck in Omaha, also known as the land of shitty movie theaters, so no Broken Embraces and A Single Man for me until I get back to Seattle on Monday.
I'm currently stuck in Omaha as well at the moment. I agree, the theaters here suck.

The Hurt Locker is playing here, but I saw it months ago.

Hmm, I might have to catch it before I go back.
As a side note, have you been watching the TV channels here? The health care ads are ridiculous. :lol I don't really watch TV where I live so its kind of a shock (not in a good way)

Oh man, the Health Care Bill commercials out here in Nebraska are INSANE. They make up at least 90% of all the ads I've seen. We don't get them back in Washington since we're uber liberal land and don't need any coercing.

"Protect small businesses, tell Senator Nelson to vote no on cloture*"
* - Even though he already voted yes a few days ago.
I'll stop derailing but man, the FUD is cranked to 11 here.
I only saw three movies this year.
#1 Fast and Furious
#2 Avatar
#3 Star Trekspoiler (click to show/hide)And Michelle Rodriguez dies in two of them, oddly enough. :lol[close]

So you're saying Avatar made your top three list? :avatar
Default: the two sweetest words in the English language.
I would have to say Up is my film of the year so far if I'm being honest. God, the last two Pixar films have been out of this world amazing. Up was ridiculously great, and WALL-E is still hands down one of the best films I've ever seen.
I preferred Ratatouille to both Up and WALL-E.same here, and I was prepared to hate it.
revised list
1. Inglorious Basterds
2. District 9
3. Julie and Julia
4. Up
5. Coraline

I liked the Amy Adams parts, except for the distinguished mentally-challenged boyfriend fight/break up, which reminded me of one of the worst parts of Devil Wears Prada.
I can't be the only person here who liked it.

I really liked it. Starts off slow, but reminded me of The Devil Wears Prada, for good and bad. Plus it was even more interesting to me considering I've started to get more serious about cooking.
I honestly feel like the only person who didn't love Up.
I think Moon was the best movie I saw all year.
Poor Amy Adams, she was brilliant in Junebug but is now stuck in crappy roles.
Yeah, I picked up that ability while I was majoring in literature.
Honestly, there's only been 2 movies I've seen this year that were worth a damn - Anvil: The Story of Anvil and The Hurt Locker
Kind of a shit year for moives, imo
