Title: Need help finding a decent laptop for $500 or less
Post by: Beezy on December 21, 2009, 08:25:40 PM
It's for my brother and my mother isn't willing to spend more than that. He's not a big PC gamer, only plays some old and free games. So far I found this:

http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/web/LenovoPortal/en_US/special-offers.workflow:find-config?category-id=653343E0DE54435882FABC3CE1BC569A&filter=Starting%20at%20Price_0,&show-page=2

It's the very first one. Comes up to $450 after adding a coupon code. What do you guys think?

I know, I own one. But I can't find one better than the Lenovo I posted for $500 or less. Is the graphics card in that one better than the Lenovo's?

Also, I'd prefer if it had Windows 7.

How is this compared to the lenovo?

if you don't really care about a graphics card, most everything you get around $500 (online) will be decent. odds are, even if it's kinda crap, the recipient will never know.

As soon as you drop dedicated GPU from the list of priorities, you can get some pretty sweet systems at that price point.

Still not sure what to get, but thanks. Probably gonna  check out some stores tomorrow so that we won't have to wait for it to get shipped.
