There are still certain things I prefer about the Mac Os and how it runs especially stability wise, but I can honestly say when I boot my Mac I now use the Windows 7 partition a lot which didn't happen before. This is the first Windows OS that I can remember that actually feels like something fairly intuitive.

Does the upgrade from vista to 7 copy also put a new backup copy in place on the HDD like preformatted Dells come with?

I thought there were options for upgrading that avoided a lot of these problems.

If you have an upgrade disc, it doesn't format the drive, it just upgrades the OS. This made me really happy because I didn't have to deal with hours of putting shit back on my computer.

I had the same. I just upgraded to 7 and I haven't seen any problems yet. I had an ass ton of stuff on my comp, so I was afraid of formatting, so I just upgraded to 7. Seems to be working just fine. :)
