I got my folks Wii Sports Resort and another Wii Motion Plus adapter, and I played it with them and, uh, I kind of liked it.

it's a fun game with other people, much better than regular wii sports

it is a turd when you are alone, though

It's kind of fun in an unexpected way, but once you realize there's not much to the gameplay after a few rounds, it sort of falls apart. Like basketball was neat, but then you realize that the core gameplay is so limited that it's nothing more than a fun tech demo.

Oh well, I bought my folks a Wii when it came out (and I had the hookup at GameStop) and they got almost three years out of Wii Sports. Even though they have Wii Play and a few other titles, the only other game they'll play is PuzzleQuest. So I'm sure they'll get some mileage out of this one.

You fell for the trap. I did too. I mean, who the hell doesn't like WiiSports? Especially when you play it with family. It's a total blast for a few hours.

But wait one week and the Wii will be put in the closet.

Nah, they'll keep it out until Spring, when they'll put it in the basement because most of their days will be consumed by golf. When the weather gets to be too much or on a rainy day, they'll pull it out and play with it for awhile. They love it, so I can't really mock them.

i hear that tiger woods game is pretty awesome with the motion plus, btw

i'm not much into golf games so i haven't tried it

My folks are pretty much burnt out on Tiger Woods. They're avid golfers (we ate breakfast at their country club yesterday morning), all their friends are golfers, etc. So Tiger Woods is pretty much a topic they don't want to talk about anymore. I imagine they'd throw away the game if I got it for them.

Hack it and get USB Loading. Your family can still use it to play disc games and you can use any FAT32 drive and plug and play

My fam and friends loves Wii Boxing. It's probably our most competitive game.

I like those and pickup basketball. Archery is cool too. Everything else kind of sucks.

Sword fighting is fucking good.  Hope this is what wii zelda is closer too.  Though knowing nintendo, they'll replace the overworld with sailing train conducting rollerblading
