man its a big month for XBLA. This looks really cool, reminds me of the old Micro Machines games. Should be a blast multiplayer.
Time to buy more points!
ps. thanks Stoney for the constant XBLA game news/updates you post. you the man :-*
-
you can buy both mr slime :-*
-
M$ confirmed price at 1200pts.
-1 sale
I bought a couple of games at that price point and refuse to now, its too much, and by buying you are part of the problem.
Are Banjo Kazooie games 1200pts too? Unbelievable. They would be must buy at 800
-
Yeah I'm not buying this for 1200, got too much of a backlog as it is so I'll just wait for a sale or pass entirely.
I'm hoping this is more like Rock N' Roll Racing than Twisted Metal; I can't really tell any more. I don't like Twisted Metal in the slightest, but I loved RNRR when I was a kid.
Kazooie and Tooie are 1200. They gave away Kazooie for free when you pre-ordered Nuts and Bolts, at least. Made the 1200 for Tooie easier to swallow.
-
1200? Hell no. I would have been more interested in Toy Soldiers and this for 800.
-
The IGN review Stoney posted mad it sound more like R&RR than Twisted Metal, with the isometric viewpoint and such. Referred to the badass "Ironman" Off Road Challenge arcade cabinet.
I'll still try the demo. If its good maybe I'll bite if I run out things to play (real unlikely :P)

Yeah, I was thinking MicroMachines, too! That is a game that needs to come to this gen, fer shure. What was that lame-ass toy car game with a wind-up/recharge gameplay mechanic on XBLA a couple years ago? I was convinced that was going to be a MicroMachines clone, but it turned out to be garbage.
1200 points isn't that bad, but the backlog is bad. Bad, man.
-
Game kinda sucks.

I kinda liked it. It's not great but it seems fine for what it is. Reminds me of Rock and Roll Racing.
Although it probably should have been a $10 game. It's not as immediately impressive as Toy Soldiers was.
-
seems like this weird "Block Party!" promo exercise is just an excuse to bump some 800pt games up to 1200pt, you know, because its a party!
-
hoo boy, I played the trial last night.
Games tries really hard, handling is decent, but the AI is godawful and the whole game just comes across as completely distinguished mentally-challenged. It plays a lot like the old PS1 game Circuit Breakers, except not as fast/fun. And with guns. Maybe you get better weapons later on? The only weapon in the trial was a wussy little machine gun. This is gonna bomba hard
Got Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond instead. Now THAT is worth 1200 points. Really fun run 'n gun sidescroller. Great local co-op with a bro :-*
-
Seconded. Scrap Metal hella sucks. I felt the same about that fucking random toy car soccer game on PSN. Cool handling and mechanics but I wish it was a classic racer inspired by the likes of Circuit Breakers not some half assed mash-up.
