i'm not sure why i'm even asking :-\

It was OK - combat was a buttonmasher, the leveling up system was kinda stupid (it had a 'faux-random' trigger to level up), and the combat would constantly freeze, forcing you to watch a cutscene whenever an attack was triggered by the slot machine thingy. Also, the missions were mindlessly repetitive and pointless. Also has the most homosexual main villain in video game history. But, the production values were fantastic for a PSP game and it tugs at your nostalgia heartstrings.

VA and GFX are top notch, game is azz

I loved Crisis Core, but I'm clearly in the minority.

Love/Hate game.
You'll have to play it to see.

I thought it was awesome, and it actually had some pretty innovative RPG mechanics that we're starting to see trickle off of portables and into the mainstream sphere. Those are more meta-mechanics about game structure, pacing, and player agency - the base mechanics of hitting thing with a sword are standard-but-servicable.
YMMV

It was ok, but I hated how the combat system was literally a slot machine and thus random. Not much else to choose from on PSP, to be honest
-
it sucked just like every other entry into the ff7 compilation.

I saw Crisis Core on sale for 15 bucks at Staples a few weeks back. I should have bought it :(

it sucked just like every other entry into the ff7 compilation.
Including FF7.

Was a good game and the main character was really likable, especially when you get even deeper in the game
some of the stuff he does is so ridiculous but badass at the same time eg a certain phone call he got while on a mission :lol
The battle system was ok and the best part of it was the DMW (though it felt so random).
