- horrible ps2 level graphics w/ screentearing
- no existent lip syncing
- crappy voice acting
- enemies can literally hit you from across the map if you disengage from them
- hud that takes up damn near the whole screen while in battle (tho it is slightly adjustable)

dunno why i bought this since it has a shit game stamp (level 5 logo) right on the box.

I remember all the hype surrounding the game when it was announced. The game turned out to be very shit.

This game looks like it has the slowest, most tedious battle system ever created. I'm not touching it until it's less than $10.

How does the online play?

The online play seems to be better than the main game.
You can do all sorts of quests with friends. But there aren't many quest to do, so it's a missed opportunity.
The main game and story are just some generic shit. I guess WKC2 will focus more on online quests.

i don't even know how to access the online. the manual said you connect via a save stone but i guess i'm still to early in the game to have unlocked the option.

back in 06 there was a video that made the game look pretty decent visually.

I remember being extremely impressed with the original trailer for White Knight, but after the graphics downgrade and bad impressions from importers, I lost all interest in it. Maybe I'll pick it up for real cheap.

I kinda did that with Dead Rising Wii. That game was so bad it made me rethink all my game purchases.

I have absolutely no clue why Level 5 garners attention.
I'm with you. I've hated every single game they've made. When Dark Cloud 2 hit, there was so much hype, but when I picked it up later on the cheap it was just more of the same pointless bullshit from the first game. Then we had Rogue Galaxy, which was an improvement, but ultimately boring and shallow once again. I will not fall for their bullshit any longer. This looks just like Rogue Galaxy 2 without any sci-fi elements (which makes it 10x worse even).
The only reason this received any attention to begin with has to do with the original media we were shown. At least games like Killzone 2 actually captured the look and feel of the CG trailer. White Knight didn't even come close to it...just like every other Level 5 game. I don't know why Sony keeps publishing their games.
Just watching the media gives me flashbacks to Infinite Undiscovery (though I suspect IU is actually a slightly better game). The JRPG genre has been all but dead to me this gen. Even the games I was excited about ending up sucking hardcore (Star Ocean 4, for instance).

I don't even know why people allow themselves to get hyped by console JRPGs anymore. Not that they are inheritantly bad or anything, but you can count on one hand the number of console JRPGs this gen that didn't end up horrible. It seems the standard for a console JRPG to hide itself in a cloak of bullshots and lies until its disappointing release.

I beat the single player game yesterday (23 hours or so) and I honestly enjoyed it. I do love archaic turn-based JRPGs and Final Fantasy XII, though.

A lot of people like it. I know Shouta on gaf thought it was pretty solid despite cliffhanger ending.
Maybe one day I will give it a fair shot, but I really wasn't feeling the first hour. Too slooooow.

I thought the core of teh game was mostly online play, so I stayed away. Nice to know there's a little bit of a single player campaign in there... perhaps I'll get after a pricedrop.

Oh, and what a cliffhanger it is! You get an airship in the FINAL CGI CUTSCENE. :maf
There's a lot of potential for a great sequel. Hopefully Level 5 follows through.
