YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

What about DQ6? That's been out for a while in Japfuck right?
-
Why "Fuck you SE"? I'm sure they realized that having Nintendo publish it would give it the best chance of doing well in North America.
-
Already posted in another thread. Really didn't need its own thread...

Just wanted to put it there!

DON'T CARE ABOUT NINTENDO SUMMIT.
:bow DQ :bow2
-
But there's absolutely nothing else to discuss about this announcement.
-
We could discuss that Nintendo could possibly give DQ a much deserved push! :bow
Deserves own thread! Hadn't had an DQ9 confirmation for US release and the Jp release all the way in July.
:bow NINTENDO :bow2

DQIX :rock

It was released about a month ago.
-
So is Treehouse doing the localization then, or is it internal SE?

DQIX :rock
:rock :rock :rock
-
Maybe now the game won't have the SE tax on it.
So badly do want.
-
yeah, if anyone is going to make monster hunter and/or dragon quest relevant in the U.S.A its nintendo. They can afford to spam the airwaves with constant advertisements. But then again corruption got capped at 600k. I imagine Square Enix would be happy with that though.
-
They should make some Nintendo-style additions, like every time you take the game out of standby you have to brush the Hero's teeth with your stylus and comb his hair. 2 million sold
-
I'm more interested in DQVI. When's that one coming out in English?
-
Meh, I would be interested in this if it didn't have a fucking turn base battle system, its 2010 already, fucking japa gamers and their fear of change.
The 100 hours I spent in DQ8 are enough turn based combat for this lifetime.

You do know that action based games have been around for longer than turn based ones, right?

Never step foot in a dq thread again.
In fact, kill yourself.
-
I won't kill myself, I will just go and play a superior jrpg like ff12.
And I spent 100 fucking hours on the last dq game douchies, I don't hate the series I just think that is time that they evolve and that is a real fucking shame that the distinguished mentally-challenged fanbase wont let it.
-
Should've been a console game. Preferably in HD.
-
if you hate turn based battle, why did you spend 100 hours playing DQ8? :-\

When was there a doubt that this would come out in the US? Silly Himumu.

Who said anything about doubt? The game came out in July in Japan of last year and we hadn't heard a thing about the US release. It's not about doubting whether it'd come or not. Everyone knew it'd come. It had everything to do with WHEN THE FUCK CAN I PLAY THIS GAME IN ENGLISH. Because goddamit, I'm tired of waiting a year for DQ releases.
For now on, I'm importing DQ games. I'm not waiting a fucking year to play this shit and the Japanese required is so basic I won't have any issues.
-
I thought you hated JRPGs? Why the fuss?

You are an extremely impatient person.
What, if you end up dying before a DQ game comes out in the US will one of your chief regrets be, "Oh I never got to play DQ in English!"
Damn son, talk about self-entitlement.
-
Who said I hated jrpgs aside from you? :teehee

Uh, you endless tirades about them? I would search but I'm afraid I'd crash the server with the results.

What the fuck. Are you stupid?
Typically, localization is fast and clean these days. You rarely ever have to wait a year for localized jrpgs anymore unless it's something with the Square Enix logo on the front. Everyone else typically releases these games a month, or a few months after release. Unless you're Atlus, or another low budget localization company, these games typically come out fast. A year for a DQ is agony.

I have just as many tirades against wrpgs. ???
-
Dude, you are raging hardcore. Relax.
-
I'm not raging, I'm just explaining my stance and your obliviousness is annoying.

So let me get this straight. Typically, localization is FAST and you rarely ever have to wait long-- UNLESS it's from Square Enix, Atlus, or another low budget localization company, leaving uh...um...er...hmm.

Atlus is actually typically fast, these days. It's for really rare cases. FF13 managed to come out 3 months after it's jp release, but it takes a year to get a DQ. Persona 4 managed to come out about 4-5 months after the jp release, but it took almost a year to get Persona 3. It really depends, but the standard is now just a few (1-2) months, if not just a few weeks in the case of Infinite Undiscover, Last Remnant, Tales of Vesperia, End of Eternity;etc

Maybe they wanted to release DQIX at a specific time and localization didn't have anything to do with it.
-
Dragon Quest Joker took a year to come out.
Rocket Slime took a year to come out.
Dragon Quest IV ds took a year to come out
Dragon Quest IX will take a year to come out.
And it is likely Dragon Quest VI ds will take a year to come out.
Honestly, the fastest was DQV ds, which came out in Japan in July and got released worldwide in February.
I'm glad Nintendo got DQ9 because hopefully, HOPEFULLY they will give DQ the push it needs in the west that it fucking deserves so I don't have to wait months and months for these fucking games. Then again, fuck it, I'm going to start importing!
-
Could it be that the localisation was given more time to make sure they get the full essense of what they say across? Typically Nintendo spends a lot of time on localisation due to that.
