And it's awesome.
:bow Google :bow2
-
I love it too. Check out the extensions, which were added just a few weeks ago.
-
Yeah, the first thing I did was load up a bunch of extensions. Like the IMDB search, dictionary, an extension that darkens the browser when you watch Youtube videos, FastestChrome, Adblock, Wikipedia search, in-browser calculator, and a couple other things.
-
The twitter client is really handy ('Chromed Bird'). It's become my default on the PC.
-
It's the best browser out there.
-
out where?
-
I think I always stop using it because it slows down some GIFs. :(
-
And it's awesome.
:bow Google :bow2
I've been using it for months, welcome to the club.
It freezes on me once in a while, but otherwise, it's all that and a bag of chips. I like it. :-*
-
any recommended extensions? I've stayed away cause I can't live without my extensions, but...
-
Pretty much everything everyone said in here, plus I use the Facebook, Google Reader and Google Voice extension. The FastestChrome and Adblock are also necessary.
I wish a chat client could be integrated into the browser - and then I'd pretty much have no reason to ever minimize.
-
Use meebo?

AdBlock - obvious
Chromey Calculator - in-browser calculator is only a click away, very advanced
Fast Youtube Search - in-browser Youtube search is only a click away
Sexy Undo Close Tab - keeps track of all the tabs you close so you can easily go back to them
Turn Off The Lights - darkens the browser when you view Youtube videos and such
Google Dictionary - pulls up definition of highlighted word
-
The only extension I use is Fittr (for Flickr)
https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/fhaledancjhefginmkkondfjpnkhdglh
If you really hit up Flickr and browse it allows you to click an image and it'll throw up a larger size (if the user uploaded one). There's also an easier way to see EXIF data of the photograph.

This calculator is the SHIT
-
what a nerd :lol
-
Ok, I just installed the Dictionary extension. Fucking love it. Seamless and shit, no more having to go to dictionary.com to understand Mandark and Drinky posts.
-
This calculator is amazing. I put it "earth to the moon" and it gave me 225037 miles! :omg
-
Mandark & Prole Internet Dictionary (TM)
-
Haven't used Firefox in months.
:bow
-
The calculator even gave me Willco's circumference!
-
:lol
It crashed when I asked about the girth of Himuro's hog

Anyway to tell Chrome to save a certain zoom on a webpage?

Crtl- and crtl+
No, I mean save it. As in it is at that zoom level every time I visit a site. That's how Firefox works. I really only want it for Facebook, as it's just annoyingly tiny on my high resolution, relatively small monitor.

I was with Chrome since day 1. All of you are bandwagon browser users!
-
I've also been a day one guy, so shut it. :P
-
Just came across this link, maybe it will help some of you extension addicts:
http://www.realxtreme.net/article/10-terrific-chrome-extensions-you-cant-live-without
By the way, I still hate the Chrome logo/icon. It's been over a year and it still hasn't grown on me.

Is this it?

-
firefox looks bad compared to all browsers out there, why would you want it to look like it?
anyway, this isn't IE9, pass.

I was too. I quickly dropped it. I did that a few times. Maybe this time I'll stick with it.

I feel silly claiming to be an authentic old-skooler by yelling "me too" but ME TOO. I liked Chrome and thought 'maybe when it grows up.'
I'm going to toss it on my netbook and see if it performs any better than Firefox, which is LIKE A LEAD WEIGHT.
-
Chrome boots so much faster, the only thing holding me back where the extensions.
-
I love Chrome, when I first used it, the speed boost from Safari was so obvious.
-
I'm trying to import my latest set of bookmarks from Firefox and it isn't working. :-\
And this Session Manager doesn't save a tab's pinned status. And there isn't a great tab manager.
I'll stick to using it as quickie browsing.
edit - bookmark import will work from the Options screen, but not from the Bookmarks manager.
-
I like that Google Chrome has a bookmark toolbar that I can just throw all my most used bookmarks up on to for quick browsing.

Every browser has that?
-
But in Google Chrome is unobtrusive.
-
It is in firefox too thanks to the awesome smart bookmarks bar extension.

┐(-。ー')┌
-
What? you need extension to make Chrome half as good as FF.
-
Actually, the unobtrusive bookmark toolbar comes standard.
-
I wish a chat client could be integrated into the browser - and then I'd pretty much have no reason to ever minimize.
thats what the taskbar is for
-
Quick edit on here doesn't work with Chrome. I'm gonna end up going back, I just know it.
wait, there we go, I found the "save" button. still wonky.
-
Wait, let me try this out again.
Yea, it only messes up on one line posts, it seems.
-
Chrome is ok, but it has a LOT of bugs and a ton of missing features. They limit exentsions for security reasons, but you end up not being able to use gestures on https sites or locally-loaded pages. There's also weird text highlightings issues, auto-fill and find text from the Google Toolbar aren't as well implemented in Chrome, either. Plus if a page involves Flash, it chugs worse than Firefox and Azureus combined.
-
All I know is it made my wife's netbook no longer run at "parody of real life" speeds, so I'm sold.
-
Once you use it for a while, the 'browsing history' feature really comes into its own. You can find that weirdo youtube video that that dude on EB linked you to 3 months ago in seconds.
-
If you're a web developer or dabble in that area. Someone shared the following link, listing some great extensions for web development.

Man, the translation extension is the best thing ever
I've been listening to french pop and it translates the text to something understandable
-
Installed it, but youtube won't work.

That didn't work. You'd think youtube would work on a GOOGLE browser. Fuck this shit.
-
why are you poors using Flash? :smug

I use the html 5 version of YT. It's something with your PC, Manabyte. When I was using the flash version of YT it ran fine on Chrome.

Embedded YT vids work fine. The site itself doesn't.
