Last week's episode was the best thing on TV since the end of Arrested Development. The Pool stuff was a bit much, but everything with white/brown Abed was amazing.
Hooray!
-
Haters owned.
-
Better Off Ted is still gone, though. Never hilarious, always likable.
-
I'm happy. I didn't like the pool episode, tbh, but the one before it was the best. Troy grinding on Chang was hilarious.

This is a really stock thing to say, but I love the characters. They feel incredibly natural.
-
Amazing show. Best community on network tv.
-
:yuck shit show.
-
:yuck shit show.
And it got renewed. Owned.
-
Its still shit.
-
And you're still owned. :smug
-
Did Modern Family get renewed as well? Neither touch Curb or Sunny, but it would be nice to have more than one network sitcom that isn't total shit
-
Community is one of the worst liked shows I've ever encountered. I will be visiting this thread frequently to troll.
cbs procedural of the month>>>>>> community
-
I think Community is great but I definitely like Modern Family's... ummm, non hyper name dropping type of humor.
-
:piss Community :piss2

This has got to be a fucking joke. They are natural in an SNL sort of way, sure.

Community definitely gets too self-referential and it becomes off-putting, almost as bad as how every episode of Modern Family ends with some sort of lesson/recap. I don't know why I dislike that in Modern Family and not in The Inbetweeners, but I do. Modern Family is still great if only for Phil.
-
Phil is my favorite too, he makes the show imo.
-
Phil is the antithesis of a natural character

There are people who HATE Community?

They're called snobs.
-
i've enjoyed it, but it already feels like it's on the third season
by that, i mean it sort of feels like they're blowing their wad this first season by going so wildly over-the-top this early and this often
-

Yeah. I've read the cast members talk about how the show's creator has had a very definite idea of the characters right from the get-go ("he's got such an amazing vision" blah blah), and I think it shows.
It's not like 30 Rock, where the first season came across like a feeling-out process, and they weren't sure how to use all the characters, or even which ones would be the center of the show.
I dunno how that'll play out in the long run. I really like the show but I can see how it would grate on some people.
-
Shitty TV shows get renewed all the time. Big deal.
Yep. Just Shoot Me, Suddenly Susan, and Veronica's Closet got picked up for additional seasons by NBC.
According to the logic of Community fans, I guess that means that they were quality shows :smug

Don't forget Caroline in the City!
Agreed re: the Community storylines, they're blowing through them. I dont think there will be much left past a second season.
Now Better Off Ted deserved more time, i feel they only scratched the tip of that iceberg.

Shitty TV shows get renewed all the time. Big deal.
Case in point - Two And A Half Men. Who in christ's name watches this fucking show and why is it running all the time now in syndication? Charlie Sheen must have some major dirt on the head of CBS and holds it over his head like the sword of Damocles. I just don't know how to explain the popularity of that thing. It's county fair stupid.
-
I really like this show. *shrug*

Both.

I love Two and a half Men.
So does most of EB. :-*

I think Community is great. I agree that past season 2 they might start hitting a wall though.
Speaking of which, man The Office sucks now.

I know a couple of distinguished mentally-challenged fellows that love this show :-\

There are people who HATE Community?
It has some good moments and it's better than Parks and Recreation, but I just can't get into it.
-
It's Diunx, who cares really?

This is why, instead of having a 5-6 seasons, Community should just be a solid 2-3. A great tv show with great 2-3 seasons > a tv show that was great for maybe two seasons and is now a shadow of its former self and will only continue to air until the creators just think it's not popular enough to support anymore.
So yeah, The Office sucks now.
-
First Ford, now this!!!
-
:bow Ford :bow2
:piss Community :piss2
I haven't watched the last two season of The Office either and I'm not sorry. It's moving incredibly fast, isn't it? They already have a baby or some shit? WTF? It's like they're racing to jump that shark. Take your fucking time.
Oh and Two and a Half Men is pretty funny on occasion.
-
^ :maf
-
Ed, they're already jumped the shark with the Office.
Also, your lack of love for Community is going to be a blight on our relationship.
-
If living in a world where it's understood that Ford automobiles and Community suck is wrong, I don't want to be right.
Haha.

what was the official jumping the shark for you? For me it was them getting married really fucking quickly. Or was it the buying the house? I don't know. It was all rushed and pretty bad.
Oh and hey, fuck Community.
-
Americanized Europeans say :piss Community :piss2
-
I dunno, man. I just haven't been able to watch the show since like season 3.
But I guess if I were to nail an official jumping the shark point, it's the wedding. Not because of the actual wedding itself, but because that's where the show should have ended.
Watching the baby episode last week confirmed that yes - the office has indeed jumped the shark. Any time a comedy show introduces a baby into the mix, it has jumped the shark.
-
Those of you who think Community sucks, when did you watch it? At the beginning of the season? It had a really rocky start there. Some episodes weren't even remotely funny, but eventually they hit their sweet spot and it's been hilarious ever since.

Like are they pregnant or did they full on give birth already?
I think it really should have ended when Jim busts in at the end of season 4 I think? and asks Pam if she wants to go to dinner. Seriously. We knew what was going to happen right then and there.
I mean there were still a lot of funny moments after, but the actual story was dead. It was on fucking life support. What's next? Someone is going to try to seduce them? They're going to separate? They're going to get back together? They're going to have doubts but stay together? adjfadkjf they trapped themselves in a corner with the story. They decided to center the whole show around Jim and Pam's relationship and then when they got them together there's nowhere to go except down the cliche path.

I watched it when it sucked. DAMN
I GOT YOU THERE HIMUMUMUMU
-
Haha
What about this ep? Surely this isn't bad?

This is the best episode this season. It would suck if what turned you off of the show was one of the meh episodes from earlier in the season.
-
I'll check it out when I get home. I'm at work right now.
Love you
-
"Oh come on, if you Chinese were psychic you would have started using birth control centuries ago."
:lol
-
I bet a European would agree with me. They probably don't read threads about shit American TV shows though.
They do though.
-
"Oh come on, if you Chinese were psychic you would have started using birth control centuries ago."
:lol
but chinese were some of the first people to use condoms. I DON'T GET IT
-
Well I guess they didn't use them nearly enough! :smug
-
Community is a great show. I'm always surprised at how shitty some peoples' tastes are. Like how the fuck is Better Off Ted not a smash hit?
Also, watch Party Down.
-
I saw that NBC intended to Friends-ify The Office from the first few episodes. I bailed after the third or fourth episode. Community is lucky that The Office is being used as the Friends replacement, so it doesn't have execs forcing Jeff/Brita romance into every episode. It has only flirted here and there with the inter-character romance that tends to get out of hand and ruin light-hearted shows.

I just realized that after Abed almost kisses Annie, Pierce says "Put your tongue in her ear." :lol

The Jeff/Britta episodes have usually been the worst anyway. The only one that was really any good was the drunk dialing one.
I dont understand what's funny about The Big Bang Theory. My brother loves it and Community. I'd rather watch How I Met Your Mother.

Agreed. I HATED the first episode. "Football, Feminism and You" is an atrocious piece of TV writing, but it really picked up after that. The one that A++ HOOKED me was the Halloween episode. Ever since then it's been gold.

The baby episode was actually kind of dark. It wasn't really a "Yay! We have a baby!" thing. That said, Dwight keeps getting worse and worse.
Dunoo. I still like the Office, but it's like a comfortable sweatshirt or something at this point.
