Which carrier?
They do? I don't know much about cells.
And I'm not getting an iphone. I've used ipod touch before and those things are dumb. I can't imagine having the same interface on a phone.Which carrier?
AT&T!
That's crazy. You're already going with AT&T. Get an iPhone. It doesn't sound like he likes touchscreens honestly.
Everyone is going touchscreen--Apple, Android, Windows Phone 7, etc. The future is not going to be fun place for you, Himuro.
Are you going to use it as a smartphone with a data plan and everything or do you just want a simple messaging phone? If the latter, you should at least try out the pantech slate (which I have). Slim design and the most comfortable qwerty keyboard I've ever used. That's crazy. You're already going with AT&T. Get an iPhone. It doesn't sound like he likes touchscreens honestly.

I don't use Verizon. T-Mo's 3G coverage is pretty great in the metropolitan areas (they even have it underneath the Metro now!), but pretty spotty outside of cities. I imagine losing signal somewhere in Pennsylvania.
Yeah, after having an Android device, I don't think I could ever imagine going back to RIM's OS.Blackberries are the new sidekicks. All these annoying little teenagers have them.
Oh my God :lol
Is AT&T the only carrier without unlimited data now?
Haven't had my new phone for a week and I get this message from AT&T:did you get a data plan? If not, I know they charge you for every KB you use (even if you're buying/downloading Tetris or something).
"High Data Alert. You have already exceeded $200 in data charges this month."
What? 30 minutes of shitting around on facebook on my mobile = 200 dollars in data charges?
What are some good phones that use Android? I'll be getting a new phone this year and if it's in the price range of an Iphone, I"ll consider it. I looked up Android after reading this thread and its features are quite interesting. I probably don't need most of those features but I love playing with electronic gadgets. Right now, I just have a crappy phone with basic capabilities and a lousy camera because my Sony broke and it costs too much to fix it.

Both are cheaper than or the same price as the 16GB iPhone 3GS with a contract.
From what I understand the best Android phone to get is the Nexus One. The Droid is good but just like any Motorola product is also kind of shit. The other HTC phones are average. What about it is shit?

Yeah... I don't experience that with my Droid. You know someone with a Droid or did you play around with one at a store or something? From what I understand the best Android phone to get is the Nexus One. Ridiculous UI slowdown/choppiness. I don't see a lot of reviews talking about it but I played around with one myself and the touchscreen is miserable, just like any other non-iPhone touchscreen.
Apparently the N1's touchscreen is sick, though, but I have yet to actually mess with one.

Haven't had my new phone for a week and I get this message from AT&T:If you haven't already, make an account on https://www.wireless.att.com/olam/loginAction.olamexecute. You can track your usage and change your plan to whatever you need.
