I got sidetracked at the town meeting when the game was like "go have 5 min conversations" x 20 people and I was like ....I'm gonna need some free time for this.
wtf
i wanna know what SWERTY stands for
be sure to read the sign textures in the hospital, too
i only did one side quest the entire game
i'd like to replay it at some point and do more exploring, when some time passes and i forget how torn-asshole-bad the controls are
everything you mentioned was great in shenmue and a truly classic gaming experience.
I think Shenmue at the time (both S1 and S2) were 10/10 amazingly original experiences. I don't really see the flaws. Driving a tractor around and working was fun!
i watched the entire giantbomb endurance run for this.
best decision really. dont have to deal with the shitty gameplay and can focus on the crazy story stuff
Sorry a $20 game soured your experience?

Side Quests give you major goodies. You can get a walkie talkie which instantly warp you anywhere in Greenvale (incl. car), infinite guns, item backpack upgrade, faster cars...
Most of it is zero work too.
Walkie Talkie - pick up a flower when its raining. George will want it later on. Bam, instant warp
Car upgrades - Run into the junkyard where the old guy tells you to. Bam, faster car
Shit really? Super excited then, I was worried this would be $90+ :hyper
edit: fucking local distributors, it's $80 here. Will be $100 for you sceneman :(

I poured some milk into my coffee IRL this morning to see if it would tell me anything. I saw the letters "D ... E". What does it mean?!
So the PAL version is out.
Ordered it from the UK as there are no local stockists, 31NZD from blahdvd including postage, so pretty good price. On par with the US price tag of $20. It's outsellling Black Ops on that site :lol
Game is AWESOME.

you get more time than you ever need for the races, they are only optional anyhows.
Time to replay this masterpiece on hard methinks :D
It's 2011, I thought we were beyond non-stacking achievements

I'm pretty jazzed to hit this up soon. I'll party-chat with scenester as I roll through the scary parts. HOLD ME, SCENEMAN.
found this review while looking for news of a PC port,

IGN called Deadly Premonition a "system seller". :lol
Why would they need to change it from "Rainy Woods"? I can understand if they made them take out a mysterious midget talking in front of a red velvet curtain, but it's not like "Twin Peaks" is too particularly close to "(Adjective) (natural feature)" as a place name.
honestly I'm not even jumping on the "omg quirky so bad it's good" bandwagon.Yeah I don't get the hate for the controls ??? It plays a lot like Resident Evil 4 to me. I just arrived at the Hospital during the second chapter. Should I leave and do some side missions? It was raining on my way so I stopped to try to find the wet flower but couldn't.
The game was just so fucking entertaining, combat and controls were fine, action sequences were enjoyable, story was one of the most engrossing tales Ive found in a game. Solid 9/10
that was good but I loved it when he talked about:
REMO: UNARMED AND DANGEROUS

I had forgotten about this movie. It's so fucking awesome
And with many movies which declare themselves to be the first of a series, it tanked so badly that no-one would make a sequel.
Good thing the siren's on so 8-Bit York can go 55 pixels per hour instead of just 45.

This is exactly what York talks about :lol
I'm trying to torrent Remo right now. It's hard to findCheck veehd
That ends in just a minute. Stick with it!Thanks! I'da stuck with it for a while anyway, but I'm happy to hear it won't be endless, meaningless, hallways.

Immediately after ex-Marvelous CEO (and new Toybox Games founder) Yasuhiro Wada let slip news of a new Deadly Premonition PS3 project at GDC, he met with Joystiq for an interview and clarified just what it is. And it's not a sequel.
Deadly Premonition is being "remastered" and updated for PS3, by a team headed by Swery65, working in concert with the two-man Toybox studio. The new version, which will be further detailed at E3, will include new content, including new "scenarios" -- and support for the PlayStation Move. We're sure the whole thing will make much more sense with motion controls.
That's where I stopped, got sick of trying to kill those wall walkers since I had terrible weapons. I want to play it more but that section destroyed my enthusiasm for it.
I beat DP twice, and still need to beat it again on easy for my final achievement. Damn non-stacking difficulty cheevs

I'm curious what exactly is new and if it warrants caring. Any new story bits I can just jewtube.

It now uses standard dual stick movement controls.
No showers or bike riding but you "may" get the ability to buy your own house in Greenvale.
Both the intro and ending have been changed a bit.
They wanted to add back violence that was cut from the 360 release but Rising Star apparently said no.
Enhanced HD graphics with new textures
It will probably launch at about ~$20.

Less than 2 hours...

To all the fans of Deadly Premonition. As usual, The steam version evaluation seems to be polarizing. Sorry it is seems to give some unsatisfied. I'm embarrassed that problem give you big disappointment. Anyway, thank you. Please enjoy. I love you all!
who actually developed the PC port? This had to be farmed out to some no-name eastern bloc studio where the Japanese to Slovenian coding process made for some difficulties or some shit, right?
