last time i played a fps on the wii,it was the conduit and it was so generic, boring and dull it actualy gave me a headache... this is an ubisoft game on the wii so the chances of suckage are trough the roof,so i'm not going to bother, still some brave hero could do... so there!

Would have to turn on my Wii, update the chip or whatever. Meh, unless this game is some amazing shit, i ain't doing it.
-
I like the weird scifi-western feel of the world.
-
I'm still planning on picking this up when it's cheap unless people a bad impression of it. My only concern from watching videos is that the combat is too easy and the game structure isn't doing much to stop it from getting stale. It seems like going into a huge open area, fighting dudes, hit switch, fight more dudes, repeat.

i had no idea the game was coming out this month. is it even worth playing?

Does anyone really care this game got "leaked" ?
I still snagged it. Never played the first... will I play this one? Probably not
-
Can't say no to that
-
Is it playable without Motion Plus? If so, I'll give it a try.

Fixed.

Apparently EDGE said that this game is now more like Devil May Cry or something like that...
-
Nope, not interested in downloading this.

A really, really slow version of Devil May Cry?
Something like that.
Try this on for size: Red Steel 2 isn't really an FPS. Sure, it's in first person and you shoot, but bullets are just a fraction of a sprawling combat system. Barmy as it sounds, DNA is shared with the third-person action of a Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden.

I read an article a while back with the devs talking about how they were worried about taking a gamble with making you need Motion Plus to play the game. Apparently there will be bundles with motion plus and the game but if you don't really use your Wii...
-
So what's the verdict on this?
-
Nobody's actually gonna play it.

Never mind then. I mean I could borrow a moton plus attachment from my folks, but it's just not worth the effort. Plus that's a perfectly good DVD-R being wasted!
-
I cant even play this. You literally require WM+ to play it. :lol
Jewtendo
-
look at how popular this game is. available for free yet no one will touch it

:rofl
Sign of a REAL turd if I ever saw any.
no, that would require one of you to play it to know if its a turd.
the games gotten pretty good to awesome impressions everywhere i've read. curse you dirty pirates without your WM+'s! :pirate

yeah, I know people on gaf have pirated it, so it must be somewhat worthwhile. the one guy keeps talking about it using "I heard this" type impressions as an alibi lol
I'm sure most of the people who did pirate it on gaf will post their impressions closer to the release date. I'm still interested to hear about how it turned out.

okay so out of desperation for a decent wii game i gave this a spin and mmm... it wasn't that bad
one things must be made clear, this might looks like a fps but it's not,it's a waggle game
basicaly you are some sort of samurai cowboy and you have to stop a bunch of fist of the north star reject with the help of a wise old man and a sassy girl... A let you dodge,B shoots your gun,if you waggle you slash with your sword (so unlike the original you now have access to your gun and your sword all the time) you move with the analogue stick and move the camera with the pointer,if you keep A pressed you enter defense mode while in defense mode if you hold your wiimote verticaly you block horizontal attack and viceversa, controls are pretty spot on,if you use certain combinations, you pull off special attacks, for example if you press A twice and then waggle down you'll pull off a jumping strike,if you press A+B and then waggle up,you'll do a strike that sends the enemy flying
as i said this might look like a fps but it's a waggle game, the game gives you much more reward if you use your sword special moves and quite a lot of enemy just block your gunshot so you are forced to waggle your way to victory anyway
as you clear objective you gain money which you can use to buy new special moves or guns (altough guns are selected with the digital pad... does that mean there are only 4 guns in all the game?) or improve your sword/gun attack power, the game is in nice colorfull cellshading and runs at a smooth 60 fps, there is no multiplayer mode... i guess that's about it?
-
i've played a little more and this game really needs an injection of variety or something,i mean waggle sword duel are kinda like candies,it's fun to be going all "oh! ah!" but it really lacks any requirement of skill or tought so it's just shallow and the entire game is like that! enemies have started to block but if you hit them enough you break their parry so in the end more than making you ask for better wagle you just end up waggling more
-
What difficulty are you playing at?
-
medium
also you can buy life upgrade my life bar is now twice as long
also i forgot to mention this game health system is different than your usual fps,you don't have a regenerating health bar but your bar refill to full everytime you kill all the baddies in the area so basicaly you have a full health bar for each encounter
-
I enjoyed the waggle but I can see it getting old really fast. Kill everyone, move to new room, rinse and repeat.
